Discover the oldest part of the city where the history of Wroclaw started over 1100 years ago. In a small group, limited to 10 people, you will see and learn more about the pearls of the Gothic and Baroque architecture: the Cathedral of John the Baptist, Church of the Holy Cross and other ancient churches of Wroclaw. Your tour will start outside the Cathedral main entrance. From there you will walk round the picturesque Cathedral Island to see where in medieval times, wrongdoers could escape justice. Whilst walking, your guide will provide insight on why hundreds of years ago, dukes and clergy chose to live on the island and why the Cathedral Island is not an island anymore.

Pass By: St Giles' Church, Plac Katedralny, 50-328 Wrocław, Poland

You will see The Church of St. Giles - the oldest existing church in Wroclaw. The Leaning Tower of Wroclaw and the Dumpling Gate. A few steps away, an entrance to the 19th century Botanical Gardens is waiting for those who like to explore parks and nature.

Pass By: Archbishop's Palace in Wroclaw, Katedralna 13, 50-328 Wrocław, Poland

Furthermore, you will stop by the Archbishop’s Palace to listen to an amazing story of one brave cardinal who in 1980 hid 80 million zloty for the Solidarity movement and subsequently what happened to the money.

Pass By: Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and St. Bartholomew, plac Kościelny 1, 50-329 Wrocław, Poland

Across the street, you see a two-tier building. This is one of the most beautiful Gothic churches in the Silesia area – the Church of the Holy Cross and Bartholomew with a copy of the Turin shroud hidden inside. Your guide will tell stories about other magnificent buildings in the neighbourhood; Orphanotropheum – a former orphanage

Pass By: Tumski Bridge, Wroclaw Poland

You will finish your tour on the Cathedral Island passing Tumski Bridge, representing the border for the church’s jurisdiction and leading to the Sand Island where you will see the monumental Church of Our Lady on the Sand.

The biggest Gothic church if Wroclaw – church of Our Lady on the Sand. You will also see the former Augustinians monastery, charming tenement houses – the only remains of the old residential buildings on Sand Island.

Die Dominsel ist einfach wunderschön. Beeindruckende Bauwerke. Schon der Gang über die Brücke, mit den schönen Gaslaternen ist ein Erlebnis. Auch hier kann man Zwerge entdecken 😉. Leider hapert es an der Gastronomie. Wurden nicht bedient, obwohl wir 1 Stunde am Tisch warteten und der Andrang gar ...

We toured 4 beautiful old churches. The tour guide provided plenty of history of each church and the area we were in. Very easy walking tour. Wroclaw is a charming city worth visiting. These are some of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited
