Fansipan Trek One Day Tour – Roof of Indochina
Overview
You will see the change in the vegetation with the mountain’s altitude. Giant, centuries-old pine trees and expanses of yellow bamboo mark the higher reaches of our climb, and we may see mountain goats and langur monkeys along the way.
This climb is a challenge for you to break your limits. However, don’t worry. With the support of the porters, you will be guided by our dedicated guide through each specific step to conquer the roof of Indochina.
What to Expect
The peak is on the Hoang Lien Son mountain range, a nature reserve. Fansipan is Amazing! The cable car ride up the mountain gives nice views of rice paddies below, and waterfalls on the way up. Once there, if you want to limit the climbing there is a funicular that takes you almost to summit. Then it’s a short climb to the summit at 3,143 meters / 10,312 ft, the highest in Indochine region. The weather up here is very unpredictable, it may be sunny at the bottom of mountain and covered in clouds at the summit. To be sure, you should bring jackets and rain gear as its windy up there and rainy at times. But the clouds are the constant. You are so high you are essentially “in the clouds” or above them. So we had to wait 2 hours for 3 brief 5 seconds of “cloud clearance” to get some amazing shots of this mountain top. This is a must-see if you are in Sapa area!

Phung was great! At 530am he was at the hotel entrance with the car and we started the climb at 6am. Phung was incredibly kind and patient and I’m so glad that we made it to the summit in the rainy conditions! The sandwich he prepared at the base camp was super fresh and yummy too. If not for his company I doubt I would have completed this climb. It’s one of the most challenging and satisfying climbs I’ve done. Thank you Phung!Phung was an awesome guide. He was really good at pacing and made sure we caught up to him. He was also very helpful and made us good lunch. We wouldn’t have made it up without Phung. Thank you!!
