Fatima was a wonderful guide through the souk and very knowledgeable and helpful. Our chef, Oussam was terrific as he guided us through shopping and preparing the meal. Then we got to sit in the lovely garden and enjoy our lunch. It really was a special day! This cooking class is a wonderful thing to do while in Fez. In fact I’d recommend doing it on day 1 as you get a great insight into the Médina when Fatima and Houssam take you round to buy ingredients. The class itself is fun, relaxed, informative and the rooftop kitchen at Palais Armani is a lovely place to do it. The experience is finished beautifully by eating what you cook in the garden restaurant. I definitely recommend this. My husband and I had the privilege of spending a morning preparing a delicious Moroccan meal here in this beautiful place, which we enjoyed later with a lovely bottle of Moroccan Chardonnay. Our experience was without a doubt one of the highlights of our trip to this fascinating and culturally enriching part of the world. I can’t recommend this special activity more highly. We were greeted warmly by our guide who navigated us through the whole shopping and cooking exercise with expertise and Moroccan style hospitality. If your travels bring you to Fes you should definitely include this special activity in your plans, you won’t be disappointed! We did this cooking class with 3 young kids and it was incredible! Such a unique experience being located in the Medina, shopping for all the produce and spices, and having the cooking class on the top floor overlooking the Medina. I highly recommend this experience!!
