Nature trip with a difference with a knowledgeable guide. Plants and birds were picked out and identified, even tiny orchids we would probably have missed. Walk was steady along a well made road for most of the way. Detour into the moraine fields needed more care. All leading up to the viewing points for Fox Glacier. This is 3 km away but it still conveyed the size and drama of it. We were able to see the helicopters going to the glacier looking like the size of flies providing the scale. Guide provided us with tea, coffee or hot chocolate at the final viewpoint which was welcome.I can highly recommend Glacier Valley Eco Tours :) Sure, you can walk the glacier hikes on your own - but then you won't get all these detailed information as I did :) there's so much to learn about the ecosystem, the birds and plants - what you'll miss if you don't do a guided walk. our tour guide was awesome! we were picked up at our accommodation @ Glenfern Villas which was great as we didn't have to drive. pick up on time. met others in town and continued on to glacier. Knowledgeable, relaxed and informed tour. we thoroughly enjoyed it. would recommend as we had done Franz glacier independently. What a great experience with friendly and informative guides to share their knowledge on the area, natural landscape and flora and fauna. Whilst it was a wet day, we still managed to see the glacier. Thank you 😊

Thank you 😊Very worthwhile tour, we really appreciated that the tour was still on even though only two of us had booked - many companies would have cancelled the tour due to lack of numbers. Guide David was very knowledgeable, pleasant, attentive and helpful - highly recommended!
