We had a great day cycling around Kyoto! Our guide Indra was very fun and knowledgeable and the day ran very smoothly. The bikes were comfortable and the city felt very safe to bike in. We took mostly smaller roads or bike paths and mostly flat riding. We stopped at a lot of major sites and Indra explained the significance of each place. Lunch was delicious and did a good job of catering to dietary requirements. Overall we rode about 25km with just over 100m elevation so very doable for any level of cyclist. Would recommend!Thierry was our amazing guide!!! Very knowledgeable, fun and easy going. I have done a lot of tours in different cities, different countries and he is way up in the top 10! Do not skip this tour with this guide!

Jay was our guide for the day and he was a blast! He guided us through the streets and alleys of Kyoto all while explaining the history that makes Kyoto what it is today. We did this at the beginning of our week in Kyoto and so glad we did so we can bookmark where we want to go back to as well as kind of understand the layout of Kyoto. Lunch was delicious at this little udon shop. And it's definitely a FULL DAY tour - we started at 930am and ended around 630pm. Totally worth it!!!The tour itsefl is good. The tour itsefl is good. It would have been a great if we would have not lost time waiting for an hour, for someone that was suppose to met us in the Geisha district because she had left the tour early the day before. Plus, a couple taking part of the tour had supper arrangement which rushed the group even if we had already lost time waiting for someone that did not show up. My advise : concentrate on the people present on the tour and not people who missed part of the tour or have personal arrangement. The group was penalized for that and the tour is not cheap. For taht reason, that was disapointing.I recently took a full-day bike tour in Kyoto, and it was absolutely amazing! I recently took a full-day bike tour in Kyoto, and it was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide Jay was exceptional, speaking fluent English and offering a wealth of knowledge about the city and its history. Although the tour was quite exhausting, it was well worth the effort. Throughout the tour, we were able to see so many wonderful sights in Kyoto, from ancient temples to picturesque gardens. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about each location, providing us with insightful commentary and interesting facts about the city's rich culture and heritage. In addition to the great tour, we were treated to an amazing lunch, which was a perfect break in our busy day. Our guide also took us to some hidden spots that we would have never found on our own, and even got us some delicious snacks along the way! Overall, I highly recommend this bike tour to anyone looking to explore Kyoto in a fun, active, and informative way. Thanks to our fantastic tour guide, we left with a deep appreciation for the city's beauty and historyIt was a nice day out and I generally enjoy cycling tours to visit places on holidays. It was a nice day out and I generally enjoy cycling tours to visit places on holidays. So in general, cycling with the tour was great. However, I have a couple of personal feedback that I'd like to share: 1) Improvements for the tour guide and the group to keep an eye for cyclists member behind them. At one point, I was separated from the group as I had two other local cyclist in front of me, and was halted by traffic with them (It took a while). I continued cycling onwards, but couldn't see the tour group after, and this is all whilst traffic was at its peak (we were on the side where the cars were travelling in the opposite direction). So I stopped and decided that I was lost (I did asked the locals if they saw a tour group cycling in their direction before but they said they didn't). The tour guide did come back a while later to search for me, however, he didn't quite ask if I was alright but more pointed out I should keep going as he'll only stop and wait only if the tour was turning a corner and that the group is already at destination, which was quite a distance from where I was it; It didn't feel like he had any concerned with the fact that I was lost, but that I have perhaps caused a disruption in the tour. He then asked me to keep up and cycle quicker with him as the group is already at the destination. Later on, when we were on the way back, when advising the group that we were going to cycle up a slope path, I was the only one told that I could walk my bike up if I wasn't comfortable, when I was actually fine. When we were cycling, two cyclist in front of me had problems going up, and had to stop to walk up and readjust to continue. My point? I sure hope he wasn't pinning it on me (some tact here) because I was cycling at the end of the group, and I was separated from the tour too. 2) Have a chat with everyone in the group while cycling. 3) When travelling across train tracks, have clear instructions when to really stop. Perhaps, others may think it isn't quite a huge deal, but I feel there should be an instruction about that as a couple of us were wondering if we should cross the tracks when it was making a signal. We stopped and then saw that the boom gates come down only a while later, so that was a relief. It was a good tour and day out on overall and a great way to visit different areas of Kyoto in a day. However, I felt I need to point out some of my experience on the day for your consideration to improve upon.
