We had an excellent tour to the mayan site Caracol. Our tour covered stops at multiple attractions as was discussed in the office. The best part of the tour was our guide! He knew Mayan history very well and was telling us more than one theory about the site origins. He was open for questions and suggestions at any time - good communication skills. We definitely recommend this tour company. We we're keen to include a visit to the Mayan ruins during our ten day trip to Belize. Research showed that Caracol was clearly the best site in the country. We we're keen to include a visit to the Mayan ruins during our ten day trip to Belize. Research showed that Caracol was clearly the best site in the country. Cayo Inland Expeditions provided an excellent experience. Our tour guide, Dimas provided a wealth of information during the two hour drive to the site. The road in is currently being upgraded and is very good for the first half although the rest is a very rough forest track. I Definitely wouldn't recommend self driving. We spent two hours at the site where Dimas explained how this once great civilisation created a huge city which thrived for several centuries before it's downfall. The first sight of the massive pyramid structure as we emerged from the jungle was amazing. I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone visiting Belize and Cayo Inland Expeditions provide a great experience with a very knowledgeable, informative guide. We did a full day private tour to Caracola no Rio on Pools/Big Rock Falls. We would absolutely recommend Cayo Inland Expeditions as a tour operator to visit Caracol and other sites in or near San Ignacio!Caracol Maya Temple was very impressive. Caracol Maya Temple was very impressive. Worth the bumpy drive for sure. Perhaps not many tourists go there because of a longer drive. We felt we had the entire area for ourselves (along with the howler monkeys). Our guide, Dimas, is an exceptional guide with a wealth of knowledge of the archeology and history of the site. He's also a keen bird watcher and well versed in animal and plant life. It was a holiday and all the locals seemed to have taken the day to hang out at the river, so we opted out of the Big Rock Waterfalls. Not a big deal for us as we were pretty tired after all our climbing. Dimas was on time at pick-up and a very safe driver.
