This was one of the few tours that had everything we wanted. Food, wine, beer, local produce with some culture. John kept us informed and warned us that we were the only people booked on the date we had picked. He offered a refund, wait to see if anyone else booked or upgrade to a private tour. We decided to upgrade when the afternoon before no one else had booked. Communication throughout was excellent. The experience was brilliant. He and his driver are great fun and you can see they are good friends. John has a passion for Malta and it’s produce. The tour starts in Mdina and Rabat with a delicious breakfast snack. Then while wandering the small streets with a good discussion on Malta, it’s history and how it impacts on the food. A quick stop at a bakery (for later). We then headed off the an eco-farm to pick some ingredients for a picnic in the olive grove. Quiet and out comes the bread for a delicious fresh snack. Next stop the insane Montekristo estate. An eclectic mix of new and old, restaurants, wedding venue, factory, winery and brewery with a funfair and zoo! After a tour of the estate wine tasting with “snacks”, beer tasting then lunch. The staff at Montekristo were all engaging and proud of the site and its functions. The wine, beer and food were all delicious. By the end we were stuffed but very happy. 8 hours had flown by and we had so much fun. Do this tour and you won’t be disappointedStephen_L

We opted for the small group private tour and so glad we did. John the host is very passionate about the food and the history of Malta. Combined with his culinary background and his use of organic and Maltese sourced produce makes for a educational and enjoyable day. Additional touches and the introduction to the Maltese wines and beers make this a truly astounding experience for visitors to the island and those looking for something more then the usual pack led tours with a herd of others. His knowledge and willingness to be able to adapt to the wants of the group makes the tour feel more personal and memorable. This was the best tour we have taken for content, food and drinks and a friendly atmosphere. Outstanding day.
