Overview

A excellent illustration of early Muslim military construction is Rohtas Fort.
The Mughal architectural style is based on a fusion of Turkish and Indian subcontinental architectural and aesthetic traditions. It was constructed in 1541 and is still standing today.
A collection of defensive structures known as the Fort includes walls, bastions, gates, a small mosque, and a haveli (private mansion). Within the walled enclosure, a settlement has grown.
