Visit the old pirate fort lookout with amazing views of our Port City and learn about the history and culture of the Island
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Centro Cultural do Mindelo, Mindelo, Sao Vicente Cape Verde
Visit the Cultural Center to observe the current talent on display, with its local bookstore and shop
Duration: 10 minutes
Stop At: Bronzestatue Diogo Alfonso, Avenida de Republica, Mindelo, Sao Vicente 2110 Cape Verde
Visit the bronze Statue of Portuguese Navigator Diogo Alfonso - right in the heart of Mindelo, you will witness daily lifestyle and culture of the people, with fantastic views of our bay city

Stop At: Mercado de Peixe, Avenida de Reppublica, Sao Vicente 9110 Cape Verde
Lifestyle of Cabo Verde, Fisher men and women, coming in from the sea with a variety of beautiful fish. Fish is a staple in the Cabo Verdean diet; the fish market is the best place to find a wide and interesting variety of fish.

Walk through the lively markets of Mindelo with your local guide* (Fish, Municipal/Vegetable & Fruits, African)

Largest market in São Vicente, you will see a colorful array of fruits, vegetables, teas, liquors, and handmade local products.

Ascend to the highest point on the Island of São Vicente, Monte Verde, 750 meters, 2, 460 feet, here you will take in the fresh mountain air, smell the crop of fresh growing teas, observe the entire city of Mindelo with the best views! Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee at the natural tea house on top of Monte Verde.

Lively fishing village, witness and hear about living in the villages of São Vicente. Also home of he best beach for kite or windsurfing on the Island.

Beautiful enclosed bay of blue/green water, with amazing views of the coast. Take some time for a swim.
This beach is where we have held the annual International Music Festival of Baia das Gatas for 35 years.
Stop At: Baía das Gatas, Cabo Verde
Enjoy a swim or dive off of the trampolim into the clear blue lagoon at our famous beach of Baia das Gatas.

Stop At: Estrada Baía das Gatas - Calhau, Estr. Baía das Gatas - Calhau, Cabo Verde
Drive along the stunning coastal road of North Baia / Praia Grande, the coastline here is sweeping of majestic white sand dunes and black volcanic mountains, with gorgeous changing blue waters. Head to our fishing village of Calhau also home of Volcano Viana

This is one of those few times where the experience exceeded by far the expectations. Carlos is a native from Sao Vicente who wants his island to be more visible to tourists after working 6 years as a guide in Sal. Hernany is a lovely guy who loves to tell jokes and show you around. I was told about the history of the country and the island. I tasted several types of grogue, had a bath in crystal water and visited several spots before having a delicious lunch. The tour lasted 1 hour more than expected. They don't rush you. I also had a surprise. It seems that lunch was included even the Viator tour page said it was not.TravelfanaticsUK

We visited Mindelo on our Azamara transatlantic cruise. We had booked with Green Line Tours for a day tour of the island. When we got off the ship Angela & Paulo were there to meet us. First of all they took us into the town where we had a guided walking tour of Mindelo, seeing the main streets, the market & fish market, the wonderful picture of Cesaria Evora, the barefoot diva, who was from the island, the African market etc. We then met up with the miniBus and were taken around the island, seeing the long beach, the farms of Calhau, wind surfing at San Pedro, the beach area at Baia de Gatas where there is an annual beach festival and then to the top of Mount Verde from which there was a great view of the island. Along the way we stopped for lunch which was included. It was a fairly basic lunch of fish, pork or chicken with rice, chips & vegetables followed by dessert. A drink was included - beer, wine or a soda. It was slightly spoilt by the number of flies buzzing around. All in all it was an excellent tour - I’d recommend it to get a real feel for the island.Miriam F

Excellent tour with a superb local tour guide from Sao Vincente who is the owner of Green Line tours. Paulo is very knowledgable, enthusiastic and he makes sure you feel comfortable at all times. Wonderful lunch included!
