My daughter & I had a fabulous fun day kayaking the Coorong. Cody was a brilliant guide, and shared such interesting knowledge of the area. Native foods, wildlife, indigenous history, bird migration, fishing and so much more. There was a strong focus on environmental conservation and eco awareness. Cody cooked us mullet & local bush greens for lunch to add to our burgers which was delicious. Must say morning & afternoon tea was also a nice touch. Would highly recommend to everyone & anyone. You really hardly get your feet wet as Cody would do our mooring. We discovered Canoe the Coorong while looking for somewhere to spend out Great State voucher, and I'm very glad we did. we met James, our guide, on Hindmarsh Island exactly on time. It was a very cold and overcast day for November, but James was very positive about the lack of wind which made us feel better. The weather turned out perfectly, of course. Our tout consisted of a kayak of about an hour, flowed by morning tea then a walk across the sandhills to the ocean, then much, then a kayak to the Murray mouth for afternoon tea then back to the cars. The day was fantastic. The food was a really pleasant surprise, really tasty and great stories to go with it. The bird life was amazing, and James was a knowledgeable guide, adding a lot to the experience. Apparently the kayaks hardly ever tip, but hardly ever is not never and we did finish up going for a little swim as we were coming ashore for afternoon tea due to a combination of current and bad seamanship ;) A small towel and jackets in the provided dry bag saved the day though. Thank you James and Brendan our a great day. We'll be back for the sunset trip!We did the full day 6 hours kayaking and loved it. About 3 hours paddling the rest of the time was spent looking at the Sandhills beach and bush tucker. Was a good balance for me who is not very fit. Great friendly guides

Kayaking was an excellent physical activity while we learned and enjoyed the Coorong wildlife and history. Brenton has full of knowledge about the area and also has a gentle and caring soul. He guided and looked after us thoughtfully. Highly recommended!!

It was a full day! Fabulous, an amazing experience in a very beautiful and fragile part of S.A. We were led by the experienced, knowledgeable, all round good guy Brenton. He made it all seem so easy, despite really inclement weather. His knowledge of Indigenous foods and generally the local environment was relayed to us in a fun but very informative way. Delicious lunch, enjoyable scramble over the lovely sand dunes. It’s a must do trip!
