Oia, which is mentioned in various travel reports, is a scenic village on the north west edge of the Santorini island. It extends for almost 2km (1.2 miles) along the northern edge of the Caldera that forms the island of Santorini, at a height of between 70 and 100m (230 and 330 feet) above sea level. It is built on the steep slope of the Caldera and the houses and restaurants are built into niches carved into the Caldera on the seawood side. There are 300 steps down to the port from Oia. Stop At: Megalochori - Traditional Village, Megalochori Greece
Megalochori, a peaceful traditional village of Santorini with stone cobbled streets. It is located 9 km southwest of Fira. The permanent residents of the village are about 300. It is definitely worth spending an evening here in order to admire distinct buildings such as neoclassical houses, stately homes and old cave houses with solid wooden doors and high fences, which were used as a protection from the pirates. Another landmark of Megalochori is the elaborate steeples of the impressive churches, two of which stand at the center of the village. It is very famous for its vineyards and wineries. There are also two remote beaches on the Caldera side, both named after churches in the area, Plaka and Thermi beach. They are only accessible on foot or by boat. It stopped operating during World War II but started again in 1945 with a reconstruction by the Greek Navy. It has a square shade tower that emerges above 10 meters from the warden's house. At present, it emits a radiant white light at intervals of 20 seconds reaching out to the sea for about 24 nautical miles. They can also enjoy spectacular views over the sea and observe a memorable, romantic and colorful sunset. For those who seek sightseeing, the ruins of the ancient Minoan settlement are the perfect option. The quite vibe of the place in contrast with the harshness of nature has a hypnotic power on you!!!

Stop At: Red Beach, Akrotiri Greece
The most impressive work of art created by the volcano is obviously the Red Beach. It is the most popular among the beaches of the island. It is located in the southeastern part of the island, in the area of Akrotiri, approximately 8 km from Fira. The teacher's sand is composed of black and red pulverized volcanic rock. The nature itself continues to transform this artwork, as the salt, the sun, the rain water and the wind still mold the impressive cliffs and constantly give them new shapes. To reach the beach you have to walk a couple of minutes on a downhill path or you can access it by boat from Akrotiri port, Kamari or Perissa. The island's authorities have issued a banning Directive for attending the beach years ago, due to the frequent landslides and whoever decides to visit the beach does so of his own responsibility. Don't miss this incomparable landscape!!
