Despite living in England for over 25 years, my husband and I had never visited the Lake District. David prepared a phenomenal tour giving us a broad and interesting overview of the area. He was knowledgable, punctual, friendly and accommodating. We will certainly be back to further explore this breathtakingly beautiful part of the country. And it will not take us 25 years to return! My partner & I wanted a taste of the area at the beginning of our 7 night stay by Lake Windermere. 8 hours flew by as David weaved his way through the sometimes challenging roads, going from one location to the next. He is very engaging and has a broad knowledge base to call on. Every question was answered and every request accepted. David treated us with the utmost courtesy and at the end of our tour, we really felt that we had known each other far longer. Many thanks for making our holiday that little more special. My wife and I agreed that our day with David was one of the best days we’ve had on a vacation in a long time. My wife and I agreed that our day with David was one of the best days we’ve had on a vacation in a long time. First off, David met us right at our hotel, making the meet-up super easy. We spent a full day, 8 hours, touring all parts of the Lake District in his very comfortable SUV. David has lived in the area for a long time, and knows the roads and sites so well, but also took us to many places we would have never seen on our own or in a regular tour. He has a lot of insider knowledge, and also he has a keen interest in history, which shows itself very well during the tour. I can’t say enough good things about our day with David, and the wonderful tour of the Lake District that he laid out for us. I highly recommend anyone thinking of a tour that you spend a day with David. My wife and I look forward to getting back to the Lake District in the not-so-distant future, and we will definitely hire David for a day of touring places that we want to revisit, or seeing things we missed in round one.David is a spectacular guide who is so friendly and funny. David is a spectacular guide who is so friendly and funny. He's very accommodative too. My parents and I had a wonderful time going around the Lake District. The car was comfortable and we got very lucky with the weather as it was sunny when David drove us up to a fantastic view for photos. We also thank him a lot for introducing us to Grasmere Gingerbread - we went back the next day just to get more. Overall 10/10 experience and highly recommend David for a private tour of the Lake District!David was an incredibly informative guide who showed us so much of the beautiful Lake District. David was an incredibly informative guide who showed us so much of the beautiful Lake District. He has an excellent knowledge of the history of the District and of all the most scenic places to see. His tour really gave us an in depth introduction to the area, his car was comfortable and roomy, and David himself is a most personable gentleman. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
