I want to start off by saying we had a great tour and a lot of fun. The tour company did not see our reservation so they weren’t at our hotel at 9 am to pick us up. We walked to the company’s building and they managed to get us in a car and drive us to the port but we were 45 min late and it didn’t seem like we were with the correct tour group. We weren’t given much direction and I don’t even know if we ended up on the same tour as the one we booked. After that, our tour of lake Sandoval was amazing! Our guide, Franklin, was so knowledgeable and funny. You take a boat for about 30 min to the tambopata reserve and then walk 2.85 km on a flat boardwalk to a smaller boat. You then go around the lake for about two hours on the smaller boat and walk the 2.85 km back. We saw caimans, agoutis, capuchin monkeys, many birds, as well as incredible flora. It was a super hot day and our guide was very mindful of keeping us hydrated and in the shade. Bring bug spray and sunscreen and lots of water, especially if it’s a hot day!ChandraMohan_G
