We booked a private tour for 3 adults, and were fortunate to get Natasha as our guide. Everything went flawlessly, from the e-mail inquiries (very prompt responses) to pickup to the tour itself, and her recommendations on things to do during the rest of our time on the island. Her English is excellent, but she is a native of the Azores and as others have said, clearly loves sharing Sao Miguel with visitors. We were lucky to get a great day weather-wise, but she was very conscious of making sure we got to places at the right time to get the best views. She was also very attentive to our interests and needs, and was just a delight to spend a day with. Highly recommend a 4WD tour with Natasha! We had a great day- it was nice to get a private tour with Natasha - as a native she is very proud of her island, growing up using the land and sea -extremely kind and personable tour guide. 4x4 Jeep is the only way to enjoy hidden gems - helps to have a local that knows the way around.

AMAZING experiences. My friends and I visited Sao Miguel island for one week and we ended up spending two full days of it with Natasha. At first we were actually booked with a larger company, but they lost our reservation (apparently your confirmation # doesn't mean anything until it has been double confirmed by their 'agency', even though they had our credit card details. They didn't seem fussed at all by this by the way - they shrugged an apology and told us it happens all the time.) ANYWAYS. So, we were pretty upset and frazzled about the abrupt change in plans, but then we happened by Seazores and learned about what they had to offer. We booked the Furnas tour (full day) for the very next day. After only a couple of hours with Natasha we had already decided we would need to book ANOTHER full day tour with her - and crossed our fingers that she would be available. She was booked with another group, but she swapped with her husband/business partner just to accommodate us! So two days later we were back in the jeep for the Sete Cidades and Lagoa de Fogo tour. We couldn't have imagined seeing any more parts of the island without Natasha as our guide (that said, she gave us lots of recommendations about what to do in the day between our tours with her haha). The island, of course, is beautiful - you COULD rent a car to see it - but then you would not know what you are looking at, or why it matters. (Plus, being in the jeep means you can go places a regular car can't!) Natasha adds detail, colour, and history to everything you see. Not only is she fun, knowledgeable, and passionate - but what I especially appreciated was her flexibility and foresight. The Azores are known for having "four seasons in a day" and Natasha is constantly checking the island's web cams and communicating with her peers and colleagues to craft the best itinerary for each tour. For example, we were told at first that we would visit Sete Cidades first thing, and go to the volcanic rim. That morning was clear in Ponta Delgada but very foggy at Sete Cidades. So, instead of wasting our money, taking us anyway, and blaming it on the weather as other companies may have done, she flipped the script: we did the afternoon activities in the morning and saw the miraculous views of Sete Cidades later in the day. Throughout everything, she was transparent about the changes to the plan, and made sure we were okay with her suggestions. This further illustrated to me how much Natasha cares about the Azores - she truly wants everyone who visits to appreciate them as much as she does and have the best experience possible - even if the weather tries to get in your way. She also cares about the people in her jeep - she made sure everyone rotated seats to experience the best views, asked us about ourselves, taught us some Portuguese words, and generally made sure we were happy and comfortable throughout the day. She also took us to amazing local restaurants both days - places we wouldn't have found on our own - and went the extra mile with my experience in particular by working with the staff to make sure there was food for me (I'm vegetarian and the Azoreans LOVE their meat so there are not often tons of choices on most menus) I really could go on and on... we were all sad to say goodbye to Natasha after the second day because it truly felt that she was part of our friend group by then and should be continuing the trip with us! We all felt lucky that the first company messed up our reservation, and that Seazores happened to have space for us.I never thought much about the Azores, assuming it's remote location would not be readily reachable by me. It was not, I'll admit, on my bucket list, or even my travel radar. But my wife and I were fortunate enough to take a Transatlantic cruise, and our first stop along the way was in Ponta De...
I never thought much about the Azores, assuming it's remote location would not be readily reachable by me. It was not, I'll admit, on my bucket list, or even my travel radar. But my wife and I were fortunate enough to take a Transatlantic cruise, and our first stop along the way was in Ponta Delgada, Azores. We booked this tour, which was "semi-private". It was my wife and I, another couple and a single man. Our guide and driver was Natacha, and she was great fun and made the day nice. She really kept an eye out for us. The Lagoa de Fogo portion of the tour was cut a little short because the weather was so bad that the clouds were obscuring the lake. She took us other places instead. Our visit to the Sete Cidades area was really great though. The island is beautiful and rugged and remarkable. Our photos from that day are simply amazing. Natacha really helped make the day. She was friendly, volunteered to take lots of photos and clearly loved her island. She shared a lot of info with us as we drove around. So why just 4 stars? It has NOTHING to do with Natacha...we HIGHLY recommend her. But the itinerary, in retrospect, allows little time for getting out and looking around. We stopped at a hot springs area and were able to walk around some there, but other than some stops at scenic overlooks and such, we spent a lot of time in the car. Yet we spent a VERY solid hour at lunch (which WAS tasty), when we could have done it in 30 and perhaps then had a bit more time for enjoying the outdoors. I know some groups may not physically be up for that challenge, but I'd challenge Seazores to be flexible in reading their group and adjusting accordingly. I think we ALL would have been more than up to some time on our own. HOWEVER, it was still a great (and VERY reasonably priced) day.
