We contacted Eshetu several weeks before arriving in Ethiopia ([email protected]). At first, we were simply going to have him pick us up at the new train station (we were traveling from Dire Dawa on the new Chinese-built train), but after learning how friendly and flexible he is, ...
We contacted Eshetu several weeks before arriving in Ethiopia ([email protected]). At first, we were simply going to have him pick us up at the new train station (we were traveling from Dire Dawa on the new Chinese-built train), but after learning how friendly and flexible he is, we decided to ask him to spend two days with us and drive us around Addis and show us the sights (he arranged for a van and a driver for the six of us in our group). We sent him a list all the places we wanted to visit and he arranged the logical itineraries for both days. We were so lucky that Eshetu was with us, because we arrived at places before the crowds got there, and even got to go inside places which were closed. He arranged local guides for us at several places, so we didn't need to refer to our guidebook for information very often. To top it all off, Eshetu joined us (and the driver) for our evening meals at local folkloric restaurants, then drove us home afterwards. What a blast! It was a great two days of sightseeing and laughing together for the six of us. We felt safe and cared for at all times with Eshetu and his company, Rotate Ethiopia Tours.220beh
