At 9am, your private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Wulingyuan Scenic Area, where Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is located, to visit its two most classic and popular attractions.
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Tianzi Mountain, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie 427400 China
Take a cable car up to Tianzi Mountain, and you will see large areas of grotesque peaks thrusting up. Walking along the steps spectacular views unfold in front of you from different angles.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Yuanjiajie, 9G3P+9HJ, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China, 427499
In the afternoon, ride a public shuttle bus to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, whose mountains are said to be the inspiration for Avatar's Hallelujah Mountain. This area is the most visited area due to its fame. It takes about 1 hour to walk the tourist trails, before you take the shuttle bus for the cable car down the mountain.
Your trip will come to an end around 5pm and you will be dropped back to your hotel in Zhangjiajie city center. Transfer to the train station for your departure train is also workable.

Stop At: BaiLong Elevator, National Forest Park, Wulingyuan, Zhangjiajie China
There is another option for getting down the mountain - Bailong Elevator. This glass elevator was built on the side of a cliff, and it claims to be the world's highest of its kind. It takes only 2 minutes, but at peak times you might need to queue one or two hours to take it. If you are interested in taking the elevator, tell your guide in advance, so that he/she can arrange beforehand to avoid the long queues.

Our 3 full days of Zhangjiajie tour was the highlight of our 14 day China trip! We are 4 friends who live in NYC and decided to do a 14 day trip in China that included Beijing, Zhangjiajie, X'ian, Chengdu and Shanghai. We are so impressed with ChinaHighlights as a tour company and Sara our guide in Zhangjiajie. She made our tour special! Activities: 3 full days of itinerary was perfect and the order of the itinerary was great as it built up the wow factor. day 1 - all the yuanjiajie area day 2 - glass bridge and baofeng lake. We squeezed in a night zhangjiajie impressions variety show which was fun 3 - Tianmen mountain with endless thrills which to us was the highlight of all. If we had another day, we would have gone to the Phoenix village 2 hours drive away and stayed there overnight. The amazing nature scene is unlike anything I have seen. The cloud and the mountain seems to change all the time. Lodging: we stayed in Zhangjiajie Pullman hotel which is extremely close to the Yuanjiajie national forest park, you can even walk to where the park's shuttle bus. It's next door to the Impressions show, 10 min walk to Xibu street and the surrounding streets with many restaurants, tea houses and small shops. The village of Yuanjiajie has a beautiful stream runs through it which is great for morning walks. The hotel has a pool, spa and few restaurants. The breakfast buffet is pretty good with extensive Chinese and Western offerings. An alternative is the new Crown Plaza hotel next door. The best part is the location of the hotel. Food: Our group tends to have a fulfilling breakfast in the hotel first (we have breakfast at 8am and start the activities at 9-9:30am to avoid large Chinese tour group's early start. The restaurant is super busy at 7am with most large group tours start at 8am) We do our activities and usually when it ends around 2pm we have our lunch back in Yuanjiajie town with tastier and authentic food instead on the mountains. Our favorite restaurant is "Tang Shi Fu Tu Jia Shi Fu", it's a bit away from the busy/touristy Xibu street. The customers there are local and some tourists but not as rowdy as those on Xibu street. Food in Zhangjiajie is Hunan style which can be a bit spicy. We Loved the abundant vegetables, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, greens with beef, chicken, fish, pork. Eat outside to experience the true local cooking, not in hotels. Experience: We had a tight schedule but only wanted to use a tour company in smaller cities and cars are needed. We are very happy with the China Highlights company from planning, to greeting us in the airport, checking in hotels, car transports, and with the most friendly and amazing guide Sara in Zhangjiajie. Sara speaks fluent English, she is energetic, warm, fun, knowledgable, efficient, flexible and helped us avoid crowds by tweaking the order of the activities. She suggested additional activity options and helped arranging the night show. She brought us to a tea shop with tea ceremony when one of us asked about it. She helped us ordering food and even pre-ordered dinner and arranged with the restaurants ahead of time. Having Sara as a guide is the highlight of this tour! Why visit: After our entire trip was finished, the part that made the most impression was Zhangjiajie. Its natural scenery is out of this world and it adds nature to a first time tour of China which mostly can be going between cities. Highly recommended!Emerald_City09

We recently spent 3 beautiful days exploring the wonders of Zhangjiajie with our China Highlights guide, Sara. Sara was very personable and knowledgeable having grown up in the area. By the end of our tour, Sara was more than a guide, she had become a friend that we have maintained contact with since the end of the tour. Sara recommended restaurants and places to go each evening. When she discovered it was my wife's birthday she quickly arranged for a cake to be delivered to the restaurant where we were dining that evening. She took us to the most photogenic spots in the park. We had a great time interacting with the domestic tourists visiting the park as well. We found the fear factor of the glass bridge and glass walkway to be underwhelming compared to their hype, but thoroughly enjoyed the incredible scenery. Every aspect of the tour from the pick up at the airport to the final farewell went like clock work.747kateu

We spent the day with Carrie and had an amazing time here. Carrie was super helpful right from the start. She was a wealth of knowledge. We had a private tour for just our group. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the highlights in a day. Well worth it!

Ann was the guide of us for eight full days at Zhang Jie Jie, the Glass Bridge and Mount Tainmen. She also accompanied us in Fenghuang Ancient City (Phoenix City). From the moment we met her, she captivated us with her vitality, her energy, her excellent and clear English, her grace and seance of humor. We were four adults with some health problems. She was attentive to our problems, showed flexibility in adapting the route to our ability without detracting from the experience of the trip. She accompanied us from the moment we woke up in the morning until the evening, taking care of all our needs, food, clothing, shopping and solving communication problems.
