The tour itself was so informative and fun. We learned so much from the traditional artisans about their respective crafts and were able to purchase some reasonably priced stuff to take home. The gastronomy experience took place at a mezcaleria near the end of the day and it was absolutely worth the wait. The food stands up to any Michelin starred restaurant. It is full of freshness and local ingredients and flavors while mixing other styles/flavors of cuisine (French, Italian, Japanese) aside from the traditional Mexican that can be found at most of the other restaurants in the city. After our 8 day trip, this remains one of our most favorite meals. Our guides, Rosario and Alberto, were exceptionally kind and really made the trip by personalizing it to what we really like and what they wanted us to see (and what they knew would be open during covid). Although the itinerary only mentioned food, mezcal, and textiles, they took us to see El Tule and a renowned candle maker in the same area as the textile maker where we were able to try making our own wax flowers while learning from the master. We loved this tour so much, we ended up booking two more with these wonderful people during our stay. We will absolutely be back soon and look forward to booking another trip with Rosario and Alberto! What an amazing trip to Mezcal Country!
