Savoca is an unspoilt medieval town that near Taormina that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the "going to the mattresses" time. Here you will visit Bar Vitelli and take pictures with an authentic Sicilian shotgun "Lupara", see pictures from the movie and a mirror monument for Coppola, enjoy panoramic view of the Mediterranean opening from the square where the wedding ceremony scene was shot.
Then you will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, on a good day you can also meet some actors - for example a lady who played Apollonia's mother. At the end of the walking tour you will have a traditional lunch in a typical "Trattoria." Lunch consist: cheeses from Etna, salami, ham, sun-dried tomatoes from Taormina, olives, homemade bread, a portion of parmigiana, a portion of caponata, pasta alla norma, local wine and for dessert, lemon sorbet.

Grazie a questo tour non soltanto abbiamo scoperto molte curiosità sul film Il Padrino, visitando luoghi come il Bar Vitelli o la chiesa dov'è ambientato il matrimonio di Micheal e Apollonia, ma grazie alla nostra guida abbiamo imparato davvero tanto sulla storia locale e sulla Sicilia. Il pranzo...
Grazie a questo tour non soltanto abbiamo scoperto molte curiosità sul film Il Padrino, visitando luoghi come il Bar Vitelli o la chiesa dov'è ambientato il matrimonio di Micheal e Apollonia, ma grazie alla nostra guida abbiamo imparato davvero tanto sulla storia locale e sulla Sicilia. Il pranzo è stato perfetto! Abbiamo mangiato in una trattoria a conduzione familiare assaggiando molti piatti tipici della tradizione locale. Successivamente ci siamo spostati nella zona di Giardini Naxos, da dove abbiamo preso una barca che ci ha portato a fare un giro della baia di Taormina. Il nostro capitano è stato gentilissimo e abbiamo pure fatto un tuffo in mare. Sono rimasto soddisfatto soprattutto perchè mio figlio si è divertito tantissimo!
