Met at meeting point @ 4am, went to next meeting point, then to launch site via shuttle bus. Funny driver & very good energy. I recommend: *good shoes for grass, not open toed. *snack to eat prior (maybe a piece of fruit). It is a long wait between an early wake + the champagne breakfast. *water, for before + after. You can’t take lots of loose items onto hot air balloon. I did take my camera though, with a neck strap. *open jacket/throw over. Climbed into hot air balloon - I found it easy but it could be a struggle for some. Once inside, it was squishy - I think our experience was booked out. I would’ve loved to have gone in their quieter period. It is very hot. No one tells you that the flames burn your skin (I’m dramatic haha) but that is possibly avoidable with a hat + covering your skin. There is no wind, only when you change heights. Once up, it is stunning! It is crazy and beautiful to see the landscape from this point of view and the sunrise was lovely. **the whole experience was very nice as a photographer. We had a smooth landing, thankfully we didn’t tip over! Our pilot was from South Africa & had over a decade of experience. We did see another hot air balloon tip over which was funny to watch. After, most people helped pack up the balloon onto a truck & then we were driven down to our shuttles. There were 4 shuttles. We were given the option to drive our cars to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyard in order to not wait around for others to finish their breakfast or go via shuttle from the meeting point. With pick up around 4am from the Gold Coast or your selected pick up spot, you’ll be transferred to the launch site. There you’ll be given a briefing from your flight operator before into jumping in your hot air balloon and soaring up and away for 40 minutes to an hour (depending on the wind). Breakfast was yum. Fresh pastries and fruits, bacon and eggs, cereals, juices, wine… the vineyard is pretty & afterwards you can say hi to the alpacas on the property :)helenlZ5187RF

The crew Kelly and Wayne went to great lengths to make us feel as if the early morning was worth while through their humour, professionalism and friendliness. This was my third hot air balloon experience however I must say that hot air ballooning really stood out from the others! The flying is so gentle that even those who think that they are afraid of heights will be surprised. From the booking to drop of back at the hotel cant fault anything. Pick up was early, like very early to drive to where the balloon was taking off. The views across to the national parks and Brisbane in the distance. A pin point landing on turf paddock and assisting in the pack up of the balloon....

Hot Air Ballon Gold Coast is absolutely the company to go with. This was an amazing experience. It all started with the bus driver ( Richard Winslett) who was fun of beans and knowledge. He was hilarious and made the experience more than just a ride in a hot air balloon. Our pilot ( Jay) in the balloon had more than 25 years experience it was like he was talking to Mother Nature to get the balloon to in the direction to show us some amazing sights. The landing was pinpoint on a Polo field and was extremely soft. This was all followed by a buffet breakfast at a winery with more excellent views and customer service. I couldn’t recommend this company and more highly.
