What to expect
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir Iceland
Þingvellir is full of history and natural beauty. It stands between the North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates. This rift valley has a special place in the hearts of all Icelanders. It is where our nation was formed by the Norse Viking settlers when they established the oldest parliament in the modern world, Alþingi Íslendinga, in the year 930 AD.
At this stop there will be enough time to walk around and explore this natural marvel. This is the closest you can get to being in two continents at the same time. We will have the opportunity to walk in the rift valley, where the tectonic plates are pulling apart. We can observe this movement since under the national park the Eurasian and the North-American tectonic plates are moving apart by ~2 cm every year.
Þingvellir was designated as a World Heritage of UNESCO in 2004 and is unquestionably one of the most beautiful and historic places in Iceland.
In the area there are restrooms and coffee shops for visitors.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Gullfoss Waterfall, Blaskogabyggd Iceland
Gullfoss, is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland. It is powerful and tall. Through it the river Hvítá, which is a glacier river originating from Langjökull, plunges down this two step waterfall.
There are a handful of viewing platforms to observe the waterfall and above Gullfoss there is Gullfoss center where there are restrooms, a cafeteria and gift shops.
NOTE: The path leading all the way up to the waterfall is closed during the winter season.
Duration: 40 minutes
Stop At: Woolmarket Myrkholt, Myrkholt, Blaskogabyggd 806 Iceland
Myrkholt is a farm located in between Geysir and Gullfoss. The owners are welcoming and friendly, but the woolmarket allocates beautiful home made woolen sweaters, hats, gloves etc. from the neighbouring farms. All made with local wool by the local farmers.
There are a handful of horses, foals, sheep and during late spring there are new born lambs to see there as well. Its simply a wonderful stop to make, especially for animal lovers and children!
The horses especially are very photogenic and are always willing to strike a pose for their guests :)
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Geysir, Haukadalur Iceland
In Haukadalur there is a field of hot springs associated with the hot spring Geysir, but Geysir is one of the most famous hot spring in the world and used to be a geyser. The main display is the hot spring geyser Strokkur, which erupts approximately every 5 minutes.
Here we have time to walk around the area and this is also where we break for lunch. At Geysir center you find restrooms, gift-shops and the restaurant Glíma which serves for suitable for any pallet or diet.
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Stop At: Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin, Hvammsvegur, Fludir 845 Iceland
The last stop of the day is the Secret Lagoon known in Iceland as the "Old pool" since it is the oldest geothermal pool on the island, opened in 1891.
There is nothing more relaxing after a day out in the Icelandic nature then end the day bathing in a warm geothermal pool. Bathing in geothermal pools is a big part of Icelandic culture.
The Secret Lagoon is surrounded by mossy lava fields and numerous springs. By the lagoon there is a little hot spring which erupts every 4-6 minutes.
The water is about 38 to 40°celcius (100 to 104 fahrenheit). Waking through the area is the best way to cool down a bit. It's nice to stand up and walk around the area on the walking paths which wind through the field of hot springs.
Remember to bring towels and swimsuits with you, but they can as well be rented for a small fee at the lagoon.
We stop in the pool for about 90 minutes.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Never rushed, plenty of time to make the most of every location. Our tour guide Anne was top notch, funny, knowledgeable and very friendly. Very highly recommended. We were very lucky with the weather- sunny and warm - apparently highly unusual in early May - but dress for the elements and landscape.Make sure your phone is fully charged for all the photos you will take!Great tour hosted by the wonderful Anna. Very informative, fun and interesting. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you, Anna. You made so special.

I booked this day tour at the very last minute because I knew I wanted to do the Golden Circle during my stay here in Iceland. As a solo traveler, I tend to take things day by day and this trip was straight to the point and perfectly timed. Volli was just the sweetest and most amazing guide for this tour. I would definitely book with him again. He was funny and informative with the type of voice that you could easily hear reading you a book from audible. I think that’s what I liked most about him. He wasn’t overly energetic but more so authentic about what you were going to experience on the tour. He provided instruction to all guests with patience and ease. The minibus itself was perfectly sized with just enough leg room. You might want to pack light by bringing just a towel and your swimsuit. A small lap bag or backpack is doable if you’re comfortable enough to hold it during the ride. It is possible to get car sick if you’re prone to that kind of thing like I am. It isn’t too bad but definitely plan for it if you feel as if it’ll affect you more so than most. Everything you are going to do is mentioned in the tour before purchase. Volli was awesome enough to adjust a few things to make sure that we didn’t hit such large crowds. Depending on weather and the amount of people visiting these attractions, Volli will inform you about his ideas and ask for permission to the change of schedule. Everything still remains on task and on time with you returning to Reykjavik anywhere between 5-6pm latest. There are ample opportunities to grab food, buy merchandise and use the bathroom so I would recommend that you be smart and use these opportunities when available. The drive back can take anywhere between 75-90min. In the mean time, Volli will entertain you with facts about Iceland, let you sleep or answer any questions you may have. I walked to bus stop #6 to take this tour. At the end of the tour, Volli offered to take me to bust stop #14 which is much closer to the AirBnb I was renting. Pick-up and drop-offs can’t be adjusted as long as you’re not too crazy with it. I opted to walk because everything is still so very close and you get much more experience and excitement taking in the city by going on foot. Regardless, I appreciated the offer so I thought it was definitely worth the mention. 10/10 would recommend this tour for everyone traveling as a family, a couple, or just solo. The experience was well worth the price. Thank you!Great tour with a fantastic, knowledgeable driver. We hadn't appreciated how much better it is to travel by minibus in a small group. Great tour with a fantastic, knowledgeable driver. We hadn't appreciated how much better it is to travel by minibus in a small group. All the sights were well worth seeing even if the weather wasn't great. The secret lagoon was a great add on especially as the last stop. We travelled with two children and they were kept entertained. We would definitely recommend Your Day Tours and we booked another trip with them.My teenage daughter and I did this tour as a way to see a few sights without too much hassle. My teenage daughter and I did this tour as a way to see a few sights without too much hassle. It ran like clockwork and Siggi our guide and driver was fun and informative. He was also crystal-clear about timings and stop-offs and always made sure everyone knew when to be back on the bus. The choice of sites was good - not too much or too little to see and plenty of time at each of them. The Secret Lagoon stop was perfect - great for all ages and set in beautiful countryside. Great value for money and we even got to hear some Icelandic pop on the way.The tour was excellent. Our driver/guide (Wallie) was brilliant. He’s funny, knowledgeable and drove superbly in really bad conditions. He made the day so much more enjoyable and the trip was excellent. Thankyou.
