What to expect
Your guide will lead the way past Fort Mason and through the Marina to the Palace of Fine Arts, with stops along the way to learn more about San Francisco's rich history from the Gold Rush to the Great Earthquake and Fire. Get a taste of the charming Marina District, where you can enjoy the neighborhood's stunning architecture as you learn how the city rebuilt after the 1906 Earthquake.
Continue through Crissy Field and the Presidio and enjoy jaw-dropping views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the comfort of the Bay Trail bike path. Listen in as your guide shares the history behind building the Golden Gate Bridge, then bike across the famous bridge! You'll enjoy panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay, the Pacific Ocean, plus Alcatraz Island and of course the marvelous skyline as you cycle across San Francisco's beloved icon.
After the Golden Gate Bridge, you'll have a fun cruise downhill into charming Sausalito, wrapping up the guided portion of your tour at a bike-friendly restaurant that's quickly became a local favorite after its 2016 debut. Menu options include hearty salads, rotisserie chicken, and one of the best burgers in the Bay Area, along with a variety of local beer and wine. You'll have a $20 restaurant voucher to use however you'd like, and you can dine indoors or on the patio overlooking the bay.
Enjoy your lunch, then feel free to keep exploring by bicycle - your bike rental is good for the entire day! You'll return the bike at your leisure, and you can either cycle back or bring the bicycle with you on the ferry boat to return.

You could of course very easily hire a bike & do this route independently, but then you would miss out on the charms & San Francisco insights delivered by Stevyn (“with a ‘y’!”) . Stevyn was an awesome guide & incredibly knowledgeable . A fantastic way to learn about the city & an iconic route, taking in the Golden Gate Bridge. At Sausalito your guide leaves you & with the pre-purchased food voucher you have to go to The Trident. Only draw back to this was having to wait in an enormous queue. By the time I’d received & eaten my lunch (2pm) the next ferry to pier 41 was at 2:30pm or 4:30pm. Didn’t want a full 2 hrs in Sausalito so had to go straight to catch ferry back. In hindsight would have been better to not have the voucher, then you can take your pick of where to eat & juggle time accordingly. But no complaints with the food at Trident - was delicious! Really enjoyed ferry back too - passes by Alcatraz. Can keep bike for day (which is great value) or take it straight back to rental. P.S. Don’t bother with a coffee at the pier stop before the Golden Gate Bridge - it’s rubbish! P.P.S. For the non-electric hirers (like me), hills are all manageable, with some minor huffing at the tops - but if you’re not up for a bit of a leg workout, electric is the luxury option….& to be fair, if I’d had an electric bike I may have been inclined to keep it & explore more of city on bike when I returned, but everything I wanted to get to was uphill!Awesome guided tour! C.J. and Charlie were great! Super friendly staff and bikes and equipment were clean. Overall 10 out of 10 experience.
