We set off from Melbourne to see the Great Ocean Road. Quite a distance had to be covered in one day (600km) from memory. Departing at 7:15am and returning at 7:30pm the day was long and maybe could have been shortened by skipping a few less exciting stops. We did see a wild koala on one brief stop which was a treat. The bus wasn’t the most comfortable as it was quite small with limited leg room and no arm rests. The main highway out of Melbourne didn’t appear to be the smoothest and on a small bus with poor suspension, we did feel a little sick at times. The last 2 stops of the day were the best- Loch an Gorge and The Twelve Apostles and we had ample time for these. There were limited opportunities to buy refreshments after the lunch stop as the shop at the apostles was unexpectedly closed. I would advise a different stop on the way back to Melbourne with a refreshment opportunity as there were plenty that we passed close to the toilet stop. Our guide Troy delivered some interesting information and overall we enjoyed the tour. The Great Ocean Road is definitely listed as one of Australia's top attractions for a reason. The Great Ocean Road is definitely listed as one of Australia's top attractions for a reason. The small group environment on this tour was a great way to see it in a personalized setting. Our tour guide Ezra was fantastic and kept us informed and entertained throughout the day. This tour is a long day starting at 7am and returning back to Melbourne at 9pm. Having a great guide made all the difference to keep the energy. In addition to beautiful seascapes, we saw an abundance of wildlife including wild koalas, parrots, and even an echidna waddling along on one of the trails.Beautiful scenery, nice pace, great guide and really enjoyable day. We had 7 stops in total and each one was worthy of our time. Our only regret was that we didn’t take the two or three day journey from Melbourne to Adelaide.

It was a rainy day and a bit foggy so visibility of the 12 Apostles was limited, that said, our guide Shannara made the entire day 5 star despite inclement weather We saw koalas, kangaroos, and much more in the wild, had epic scenery along the way, and a playlist in the van that made the entire (long) day a pleasure from start to finish - bravo Autopia and Shannara - you rock!Wonderful trip. Our guide Kurt was very experienced. He totally outlined our day so we knew what was coming up. The stops were all worthwhile and enjoyable. My husband is a tall man and found the seats rather confining.
