The grounds were minimal, but the house was interesting enough by itself to justify the $20 ticket. Biggest drawback is the road up to the house: narrow, winding and torturous.

What an amazing home! So much rich history in one unassuming place. Everywhere we turned there was stories to be told about the history of this or that. You could get up close and even hear many of the musical instruments play and the time clock work. It was just amazing. Such a unique property that obviously is loved by its owners. I thought it was so neat that they actually live in the house, in the original owners room and bed. The couple who owns the home offered some lemonade and rum punch in the bar out back. The pool area is beautiful and you could see how special this home is. Beautiful gardens and interiors and the most spectacular view!! So glad we booked this excursion on our Disney Cruise!!A large but plain house compared to some of the same era and history. A large but plain house compared to some of the same era and history. House is still lived in apparently although difficult to see how it is maintained as a museum and a home. Lots of complete and well furnished rooms. The novel is the musical instruments demonstrated by the guide. The house was open specially for our group which was then split into two. That said the groups were still too big and not everyone could get into the rooms being talked about nor see items being talked about or pointed to which was a real shame. A lame rum punch was served in the bar area which contained several artefacts referring to the slave era. Not much of a garden to walk around either, or at least that we were directed to. We were warned incessantly for our safety and therefore and unfortunately this was our only taste of Jamaica and only ever likely to be.It was a wonderful trip back in time and all the artifact are kept in pristine condition. Our guide Thora was excellent her knowledge told a detailed story that one could get lost in. I would highly recommend her, over all it was a great experience especially if you love history.
