Our private tour with Diego was very informative, well paced and delightful. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn about history of Guadalajara at your own pace, taste the local flavors and explore the largest indoor market in all of Latin America, Mercado San Juan de Dios. Diego greeted us as soon as we arrived at the meeting point. We walked to the market and he explained the history and showed us old photos before we entered. As Diegon is an avant- foodie and tried almost all the food posts, we knew we were in good hands when we went to his personal favorite spots. We had barbocoa tacos, and tacos ahogadas right away. We then walked through the market visiting local fruit stands, butcher shops, homeopathic medicinal shops, art and craft stands. After the market, Diego showed us significant landmarks, took us to Magno Centro, largest jewelry store in Latin America. Since we had already done a prior walking tour with Guru, Diego went above and beyond by showing us anything that Guru typically might not have gone over with us. We walked to the 9 Corners after and was dropped off at one of the oldest birria restaurants- this one is optional and we decided to try it. Diego is amazing and hopefully I’m not biased as he lived 2 years in Vancouver, where I am from and was able to give a lot of references to Vancouver:) Diego born and raised in Guadalajara, but also very well traveled, worldly. He is very passionate about supporting the local economy, hence, returning to help open up the eyes of foreigners to Guadalajara. I highly recommend this to everyone keen on digging deeper into learning about Guadalajara.Diego was a wonderful tour guide! We had a really great morning with him learning about the culture and history of Guadalajara as well as tasting some delicious and authentic meals. Highly reccomend this tour if you're in town wanting an authentic experience about this wonderful culture & people.

A very interesting tour. So nice to have a knowledgeable guide to take us around Guadalajara to places we would never have discovered without Diego. We also wanted to go to Tlaquepaque which he took us to and again showed us things we would not have seen without him. A very enjoyable and informative day. I highly recommend Diego - he is very knowledgeable and passionate about his home city. This was a great private tour of several Mercados and neighborhoods around downtown Guadalajara. Would highly recommend this tour with Diego. We especially liked the Birria tasting at the end though it was an extra charge. Learned a lot from Diego and got some great ideas of places to see and try.

My husband and I had a 4 hour tour with Diego yesterday, and it was the perfect way to spend our day in Guadalajara. Meeting up with him was super easy, all communication beforehand was efficient and smooth. Diego's English is great and so he was easily able to tell us so much about Guadalajara - history, architecture, food, etc. It was a very good way to experience the large city, we wouldn't have known where to go, and having him to speak for us at the markets and vendor booths made it a much more positive experience than if we had been alone. He ordered food for us, helped us with purchasing items, chatting with vendors and teaching us about local fruits, getting us samples, etc. He took us to some important historical buildings and it was a super pleasant surprise to see the amazing murals in them, and he made sure we were at the hospital cabanas at the right time to be with the expert English-speaking art historian who taught us fascinating details about the murals. We had both breakfast and lunch along the tour, at two different markets. Before the tour, I had emailed Diego and asked for advice on restaurants, and one of the ones he suggested we ate at our final night, and it was a perfect meal in every way, thank you so much for the suggestion Diego! And now we are on to the rest of our Mexico journey and Diego has ensured us that we can email him for advice on these other towns/cities as well.... and so I will be doing that! Diego is a treasure, and meeting him for the tour on our first day of a two week trip has been so fortunate for us. I highly recommend booking a tour with Diego!Diego gives ones of the best food tours as it is paced perfectly and includes a great balance of delicious food, education, walking and experiencing local markets. He also adds cultural and historical insights along the way. Highly recommend this tour!
