This excursion was a great value. We liked Juliana, the tour guide. She was very relaxed, knowledgeable, and resourceful. There was around 40 people in our tour, which wasn't a problem for us but consider taking a private tour if you can't share or are impatient. The pace of the tour was on the spot for us since we are fairly active, enjoyed just the highlights and take only the most important pictures. The places on this tour are breathtaking, and it's a lot of fun. Also, going up to the top of La Piedra del Peñol is a good accomplishment. The traditional Colombian breakfast and lunch were delicious and we eat everything on our plates.Amazing Guide, trip and vibes. Guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and cool. There was enough time between stops to appreciate everything.

First we board the bus to get breakfast at this streetside restaurant: a simple paisa breakfast with scrambled eggs, bread, arepa and hot cocoa. Then we get to the rock Be ready for that climb it's definitely a workout; bring bug spray because at the top of the lookout some vicious bloodsucking bugs will attack you. Amazing views though. The base of the rock has restaurants and bars; have cash for the restrooms. Then we head to Guatape; beautiful town with colourful umbrellas and houses. Great for pictures; lunch is here with three protein choices. Then its on to Penol replica with a nice church for pictures and great country side scenery. Then we boarded a double decker boat for a river tour passing even Escobar's burned our Finca. The whole trip is amazing and well worth it just have water, comfortable shoes and dress for the day of cardio. PS. The AC has to remain on in the bus so have a pull over or jacket handy... Also: pay attention to the departure times for the bus during the various stops and save the tour guides cell number just in case you're late you run the risk of being left behind.
