The Finca in the Clouds is not just a place where you go horse riding, it is MUCH MORE than that ! First, the finca is located in the most beautiful landscape you could ever imagine. On top of the world, at about 2600m high, the view on the various volcanoes surrounding Antigua is breathtaking. The clouds in the magnificent forest create a magical atmosphere. The finca is nothing close to what you could expect ! It is like being in a movie of another time ! Everything is just stunning ! The ride was gorgeous, among the most beautiful nature, and very pleasant. And we all end up the refreshing ride with an extraordinary buffet, and had a lot of fun learning Line Dancing ! When the West meets the South ! But the magic of the experience stands very much in the personality and skills of the master of the project : Niki ! She has this wonderful enthusiasm and beautiful energy that makes it all. She loves whats she does, and her passion is very contagious ! And talking about horses, she does know what she is doing and talking about. I really recommend this experience with Niki !My friend and I did this horse riding day trip with Nicole and Karla. My friend and I did this horse riding day trip with Nicole and Karla. They made it so personal and so special. The finca is gorgeous and the ride to the volcano was spectacular. The views alone would make it worthwhile. But let's talk about horses. I've loved horses all my life, but never really became a great rider. I just love being near them and their amazing energy. Yet Niki is such a horsewoman/cowgirl that she gave amazing tips, so we got a riding lesson in the mix. It felt very safe and was soooo fun! We even got to trot (and she took me into the ring to canter a couple of times). Then we wrapped up our time with a lovely meal and some beers. The finca is at 8,000 feet, so the air is super clean and pure. I felt rejuvenated after this experience. I would do it again whenever I go back to Antigua! HIGHLY recommended. Thank you Niki and Karla!Having ridden for many years, whenever I travel, I search for the perfect day of riding. I wasn’t sure Antigua was going to provide that opportunity. But I was very wrong. Having ridden for many years, whenever I travel, I search for the perfect day of riding. I wasn’t sure Antigua was going to provide that opportunity. But I was very wrong. Finca in the Clouds was a hidden gem - a surreal landscape, a herd of free-roaming horses, and trails that offer views of volcanoes and look down on clouds. Niki and team were incredibly accommodating, and were great trail guides as well as hosts over a lovely lunch. If you’re a horse person, highly recommend taking the time to visit the finca. You won’t regret it.It was an amazing ride. Horses on the ranch are simply amazing. It was an amazing ride. Horses on the ranch are simply amazing. For being the only visitor, pick-up at the hotel was pretty late (More than an hour delay), food for lunch was not organized prior - some stopps during our drive to the ranch were needed to do the shopping. Trail for advanced riders is pretty short. Luckily, i had the chance to ride on the ranch‘s area after lunch a little bit which i do not want to miss out - this was absolutely awesome :-)Let me start by saying we are a little biased as both of us really enjoy riding. Let me start by saying we are a little biased as both of us really enjoy riding. So, it was hard for our hikes and other activities to compete with this from the get go. That being said, Nikki and her team were awesome! They picked us up around 8am in Antigua and we drove up to the Finca which was unlike anything you'd encounter in The States. The property and the whole surrounding area were just plain gorgeous. We were both pretty experienced riders so we got going pretty quickly and they did a great job tailoring our ride to our skill level. And, even though I was in extreme pain from an Acatenango hike the day before, it was all very doable, enjoyable and relaxing without being strenuous. When we returned to the property they let us ride around in the arena before we broke for lunch which consisted of an excellent cheese board and some chorizo that they grilled up right there on the wood fire. The whole thing is about way more than just the riding and the overall experience made it our favorite day in Antigua. If you enjoy horses at ALL do yourself a favor and sign on for this one.Amazing! you can't miss this experience while visiting la Antigua. The place is beautiful where you connect with nature, trainers are passionate and patiently explains everything, they are real experts.
