The tour is mostly along back streets and pedestrian areas, and secret residential parts. Our talked to us about York's rich ancient history, as well as modern history and how the people of York live today. Cecil was warm, approachable and knowledgeable (both in York and bike safety!) What a fabulous morning!! Theres so much to say about Cecil the guide. He was superb, friendly, fantastic local knowledge and provided us with really good quality tour bikes. We biked around the City and visited all the major landmarks with stops to learn on the way. What great way to understand the depth of history in York. It also helped us to decide what to explore thereafter. Well worth the price and great to do if on a time schedule. Thankyou Cecil for making our stay in York so memorable, we will be back again soon. 5 stars not enough. Cycling for a few hours was a great way to see areas of York we otherwise wouldn’t have seen. Cecil is full of facts, information and stories from when the city first began to develop to how it is now. The route couldn’t avoid a small distance on the busier road but was safe, flat and followed a mixture of quiet roads, cycle routes and a lovely stretch along the riverside. We loved seeing the contrasting architecture of the buildings and the classic views of the Minster. A great way to discover York and great value for money.Great tour guide, Cecil, he had lots of knowledgable things to say. Bikes were in good condition and the tour locations were good.
