I booked this tour for around $40 compared with $189 for the cruise line excursion. The only apparent difference was that this tour didn’t include admission to the mountaineering museum, which can be visited independently for around $15. This was a popular tour and the queue for the 1pm trip already looked very long when I arrived at 12.40pm. Although I booked online a few weeks ahead, I suspect many booked on the day as it was well advertised at the departure location. I was fortunate to get a window seat, it wouldn’t have been anywhere near as enjoyable without it especially travelling solo. It’s okay to lean across your neighbour to see out if you know them, not so much if you don’t! The outward journey took longer than scheduled due to heavy traffic. We spent a lot of time waiting at the hairpin bends until it was our turn to negotiate them. But that was part of the experience and gave ample opportunity to admire the scenery and marvel at the construction. We had 50 minutes at the top which was more than enough for me to walk down to the viewpoints. It could possibly seem a little short if the visitor centre was open but it has been closed since Easter 2021 when it was damaged by an avalanche. There are toilets and a souvenir shop in a separate building which were open. The coach was comfortable and the boarding process efficient. If travelling solo be wary if they start trawling the queue looking for people to fill single seats. I saw this happen and the lady ended up in the middle seat of the back row, facing directly down the aisle. If it’s your bad luck of the draw then okay, but I thought it very unfair of them to actually seek out a solo traveller to take that seat rather than leave it empty. If she’d been left in the queue and boarded the next bus (waiting behind the first) then she may have got a window seat. The ‘guide’ was more of a bus monitor who appeared to read from a script I suspect was prepared and given to all guides. But it suited me as all I wanted was the bus trip, any information provided was a bonus. The drive both up and down the Trollstigen was a great experience and the views were amazing throughout, not just at the top. The bus tour was excellent value for money and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Andalsnes.Comfortable bus with superb driver along with a competent tour guide. 30-minute stop at the viewpoint could've been longer but for traffic.

Probably the most spectacular views in Norway. Bus driver was very adept at maneuvering up and down this very narrow and steep road. Guide provided a good background during the ride.

We had sufficient time at the top of the troll road to take pictures and explore the area. This was a tremendous value compared to the cruise ships $325 for the same tour. Highly recommend these folks!Nette Reisebegleitung, sauberer Bus und guter Fahrer.
