Rincòn was an easy drive from San Juan on Sunday am. An absolute nightmare after sunset. Everyone must go to coast for weekend - u need to at least get off route 2 well before sunset. We did a shore dive at Black Eagle - awesome! The plant, coral, and sea life were outstanding. Saw turtles, eels, and all the usuals sea life. Plant and coral were best I have seen since Queensland. Team at Rincòn were great. Christian, Anthony, and Steve treated us well. Our guide, Greg?, was awesome! Trip was advertised as 1-5 but went at best to 3:30. As we had most all of our own gear it was a bit pricey. If u have ur gear, go to Black Eagle. If not, stop by and see the guys at Rincòn.We scheduled a guided shore tour not knowing that we actually needed to schedule the 2nd half of our scuba certification. We scheduled a guided shore tour not knowing that we actually needed to schedule the 2nd half of our scuba certification. The shop was awesome in getting us switched over with no problems. Our instructor Claire was amazing! Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was fun and enthusiastic. Her love of her job was more than apparent. At the end of the instruction I felt very comfortable with our 1st real dive. The dive itself was so cool! The reef was beautiful and we saw puffer fish, eels, sting rays, octopus, lobsters, a ton of beautiful fish, and even a sea turtle! A highlight of our 10 day trip, will definitely be back!!The entire staff was friendly and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel welcome from the very beginning. My wife and I are new to scuba diving having received our PADI open water cert recently and with less than 10 dives. The owner and staff took ample time with us to go over equipment and to refresh our memory on how the equipment works. We signed up to do three dives over the course of two days. Our instructor was Tygue ("Tiger"). Tygue was calm, attentive and very patient in the dive shop as he helped to fit us for the dives. We do not own any equipment just yet (save the masks we purchased in the shop) so it was a lot of work to get us properly sized up. Tygue took his time to make sure the equipment was the right fit for us, the weight systems were right etc... Before leaving the dive shop, Tygue went over the details of the dives to ensure we understood what to expect and some basic ground rules for swimming in/around reefs in Puerto Rico. Tierra accompanied us on day 2 as a second guide (bit bigger group). The dives were shore dives which was a neat experience from a boat dive although requiring a good bit more energy to get to/from the locations out in the ocean. We enjoyed the opportunity to learn skills needed for shore dives. Tygue and Tierra made sure the group was together and individually ready before descending. Underwater the visibility was OK (12 - 15 ft.) for the days we went. However, there was plenty of fantastic reef and sea life to experience. The water temperature is also absolutely perfect...no wet suit needed....best water temp we've ever felt and a pleasure to be in. All this said, my favorite experience on each of the dives was the attention that both Tygue and Tierra provided my wife. My wife is still struggling a bit to keep her buoyancy balanced and has a tendency to be a "floater". Tygue and Tierra both worked with her specifically throughout the dives to help her reset and get to a better weight/air balance. At certain points Tierra even swam alongside my wife holding her hand and providing her a reference point. As noted above, we are new divers and don't have a good feel for much of anything just yet. That extra help from the guides was key to both my wife and I having a great experience despite being so new to the sport. My wife and I felt confident enough after having the guides work with us in and out of the water that we rented equipment for the next two days to go out on our own. We'd highly recommend this dive shop. They are knowledgeable, prepared, and offer guides who can help you stay safe while also having fun. Great experience all the way around.Shawn was amazing! She was knowledgeable, accommodating and adventuresome. Would highly recommend diving here! Loved the diving. Saw a huge stingray, gorgeous coral, sea snakes, tarpon and so many colorful fish. Great experience!

We did three great dives with Ricon Diving! The two morning dives with Claire were great -- she is an excellent navigator. And the night dive at Crash Boat with Kai was amazing. The shop and the staff are all very professional and we appreciated the communication. Note that the wall dive, which is from the shore, has a very long surface swim. I was not prepared for this. This is not Claire's fault or Rincon Diving's fault - I'm just stating so that you go in knowing this. We would definitely dive with Rincon Diving again!Great time shore diving in Rincon with Kai. Great time shore diving in Rincon with Kai. After a short briefing at the dive shop you drive over to a nearby beach for 2 shore dives. The one thing that we enjoyed about this is that the dive site was not busy at all. We basically had the whole dive site to ourselves. However, to get to the dive site you will have to do a short swim out to the reef but nothing too crazy. Kai did a great job keeping our group together and assisting other divers that had issues. So if you want to do some diving, I'd highly recommend Kai over at Rincon Diving. Please note that the online booking system says this goes from 9am-1pm. However, we finished closer to 3pm, which included checking in, our dive briefing and 2 shore dives with a surface interval. Half the divers in our group did not stay for the 2nd dive due to other commitments as they too expected to be finished diving at 1pm. So if you're on a time constraint, plan accordingly.
