Dan was a fantastic host, so knowledgeable and was very happy to talk about beer for as long as needed! The tour was very relaxed and interesting and we even went on to another pub with Dan afterwards that he recommended. A great way to spend a summer afternoon and evening.

Dan was well informed and knowledgeable about the different craft beers we tried and fitted in with our group with plenty of stories and great humour. Strongly recommended.

We really enjoyed this lovely tour of beer and brewing trivia, both old and new, through Lewes. All breweries are exceptional in their own right, and Dan is not only incredibly knowledgeable about both beer and the brewing history of Lewes, but he's also incredibly passionate about it; just ask him about anything nerdy and specific that relates to beer and his eyes light up like a child on Christmas eve. There are a few things about this tour that make for obvious good reasons to do it: Lewes is a lovely place to explore, and tracing and discovering its special, long-running relationship with beer, which continues to thrive in the breweries/taprooms you visit as part of the walk, is a treat in it...
There are a few things about this tour that make for obvious good reasons to do it: Lewes is a lovely place to explore, and tracing and discovering its special, long-running relationship with beer, which continues to thrive in the breweries/taprooms you visit as part of the walk, is a treat in itself. But it is really the details that elevate this experience from "very good" to "great": Dan's (the guide, and his wife Ally's) friendliness, warmth, great enthusiasm knowledge and passion for beer, and the generosity with which he shares these with anyone who joins. This in turn makes the walk feel like sharing a few pints with a group of (new) friends on a Saturday - only one of those friends also has an encyclopedic level of knowledge about beer! :) As a (curious) beer newbie I absolutely loved it, and so did my partner who is an advanced-level beer geek. Highly recommended! The tour was absolutely fantastic, the host was very knowledgeable and managed to answer all my questions. Great for me who knew loads about beer but also my partner who had very little knowledge so it is good fun for everyone. Top quality beers, and got to walk through Lewes to get to each brew...

As an avid craft beer fan, this experience was right up my alley. Lewes is a stunningly beautiful place, so what better way to take it all in than this amazing beer tour hosted by the legend himself Dan Sandy! The beers were fantastic, but the value is really in your tour guide. Dan is not only an expert when it comes to the beer, but all the insight and info around Lewes and its history was surprising and very entertaining. Highly recommend it if you're after a chill day out in Lewes without feeling like a tourist!
