The trip started on time with tthe guide Hazel who picked me up at the hotel. We went to a local market so we can look at local produce. We bought some ingredients that we used to cook. We even tried some local food and learned to make some dumplings. Later in a home style tea house, we learned how to cook 3 different dishes. Chef Chan was very patient and sweet. We later shared the food we cooked. On the whole it was a very good afternoon. 5 stars! We had an amazing time cooking with Lance! He was our guide and explained anything we wanted to know. Best way to get to know Chengdu!

I just completed a two and a half week trip around China. This was certainly the most memorable part. Our guide Hazel, was very informative and helpful and her english was great! She explained what types of food to get in the marketplace, helped us learn how to ask for them, and showed us what to look for in terms of quality. Afterwards, we earned how to cook from a terrific chef who critiqued our skills using various techniques and tools. Finally we enjoyed our food together as a group and had a lovely chat before parting ways. These kinds of experiences are what I imagine TripAdviser was built for.
