Great Alaskan Holidays highly recommends Cooper Landing Fishing Guide for a breathtaking and unforgettable float down the world famous Kenai River. David Lisi does a wonderful job at teaching and encouraging those in his boat, whether you are a seasoned fisherperson, or one who's never held a rod before. Patient and professional, David and Jackie are the best on the Kenai. Give them a try. You won't regret it. Bob Johnson, Director of Marketing, Great Alaskan Holidays.Dave is an excellent fishermen. Dave is an excellent fishermen. He taught my 87 year old dad and myself to fly fish. Very patient, knowledgeable, great conversations, and prepared for our trip. He was very respectful of the fish that we caught. He made sure that the fish was not out of the water too long and removed to hook without hurting the fish. He knew exactly where the fish liked to bite, while two other boats went past us and we stopped and caught quite a few fish. My dad and I had a great time. I would recommend this company.Had an excellent half-day outing on the Middle Kenai in September with two boats for our family of four. Had an excellent half-day outing on the Middle Kenai in September with two boats for our family of four. Our goal was to have an active and enjoyable morning on the middle section of the river to allow our daughters to catch a few rainbows and dollies. David and his colleague were excellent and attentive the entire morning. Gorgeous scenery all the way. And as an added bonus we caught a lot of fish of all sizes for a memorable day. Thank you David! My adult son and I spent an afternoon fishing with Dave on the Kenai River. The light on and off drizzle worked in our favor as we had the boat and the river to ourselves. My adult son and I spent an afternoon fishing with Dave on the Kenai River. The light on and off drizzle worked in our favor as we had the boat and the river to ourselves. Dave did an excellent job explaining us fishing novices what to expect along with fishing tips. Throughout the trip we were getting hits and catching fish - mostly rainbows and dolly varden but also a few salmon. Dave made sure we were always hitting the most active fishing spots even if it meant rowing upstream to hit a good spot a second time. Scenery was beautiful and the day was memorable. Dave was knowledgeable and personable. We would definitely recommend Dave.My two adult sons and I went to Anchorage and Girdwood for a Summer father-son vacation and wanted to fish the Kenai River. My two adult sons and I went to Anchorage and Girdwood for a Summer father-son vacation and wanted to fish the Kenai River. We booked a half day trip with Dave at Cooper Landing Fishing Guide.com and couldn't be happier with our choice. Dave was easy to reach via e-mail and text and was quick to respond to my questions and a last minute scheduling change. When we arrived at the boat ramp, Dave was already there with all the gear we needed: chest waders, boots, fly rods and reels, flies, hooks, etc. We floated the upper Kenai River with stops along the way to fish from the banks of the River. Dave was very nice and knowledgeable about the River, Alaska and fishing. It was a such a pleasure talking with him while we floated the river that I personally didn't care if I caught any fish. But Dave made sure we all caught fish on the trip. I have fished on the Kenai many times over the last twenty years with many guides, and I have to say that I will continue to go back to Dave from now on. Thanks Dave!A patient and concise intro to Spey casting had me slinging and swinging in no time. Shortly thereafter, a PR 28” beautiful stud rainbow was netted. Incredible!
