We thoroughly enjoyed our e-bike tour! Daisuke was an excellent host, pointing out various natural and cultural sites along the way. We learned a lot about Japan and the local area. The e-bikes were very easy to use and our teenage daughters especially loved the experience of trying them for the first time. We especially loved our picturesque stop by the river. Would definitely recommend this outing!I loved all the bike ride.. Dai was a brilliant guide and full of knowledge. The scenery was so pretty. We even stopped by the river to have a cup of tea. I never thought we would get up the steep slopes but the ebikes were amazing. So much so that we are buying ebikes of our own!

An amazing experience from start to finish. Dai was there to welcome us and go through the e- bikes with us. They were so easy to use. The scenery was stunning and hardly any cars. Being up in the mountains and then biking through small villages is something you would not normally experience. Dai was very knowledgeable about the area and very passionate to show people this hidden part of Japan. The tea break sitting by the Maze river was definately a highlight. This is an experience you absolutly must do if coming to Japan. It was definately a highlight of our three week trip.I can't express how fantastic this bike tour was. I can't express how fantastic this bike tour was. Even with concerns about the weather Daisuke kept in touch and made a call by 5pm the prior evening. Luckily we were able to take advantage of a half the time biking and then half the time walking once the rain began. The journey started out with a brisk ascent into the mountains surrounding Hida Hagiwara, but not to worry you'll have an ebike assisting you! I was new to using an ebike and Daisuke was very clear and detailed about the best way to operate one. We also got a chance to try out the ebike before we all set out. I do think you'll need to have a basic fitness level as even with the ebike assist there's a challenge on the more steep sections. It's totally worth it though for the view at the other end so hang in there! Also Daisuke was very considerate of making sure the group stayed together and that anyone with lower fitness levels was directly behind him so he could watch over them. Make sure you bring gloves and proper clothing for the colder days. The places we went with Daisuke both on the ebike and then later on foot were undoubtedly places that the average tourist would never stumble on accidentally. It was invaluable to have a local resident show us around and also experience Japanese hospitality at our lunch spot. Daisuke shared his knowledge about the local culture and life as well as sake brewed locally. It was an unforgettable experience and I would love to come back and experience this area in a different season (hopefully warmer, even if the snow was breathtaking to see). Seeing Japan is about so much more than seeing Tokyo or other major cities. Don't miss out on this scenic and intimate view of rural Japanese life in a quiet town tucked away in the mountains with no tourists in sight. The e-bike tour to Maze was an amazing way to see two rural villages separated by mountains in the Hida region!! The e-bike tour to Maze was an amazing way to see two rural villages separated by mountains in the Hida region!! The electrical assistance on the bikes made cycling up and down the mountains effortless and meant we could really enjoy the stunning view points our brilliant tour guide (Dai) took us to. Dai is very knowledgeable on the rural lifestyle and how it integrates with the natural environment of the region. He even kindly provided us with a lovely tea/coffee break in a hidden gem! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to understand Japan in a deeper way and dive into its rural nature!! ^ - ^
