Stop At: Lunenburg, Lunenburg, Southwest Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia
Lunenburg is a port town on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. Founded in 1753, the town was one of the first British attempts to settle Protestants in Nova Scotia in an effort to displace the French colonial Roman Catholic Acadians and indigenous Mi'kmaq. Old Town Lunenburg is one of only two urban communities in North America designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Considered to be the best surviving planned British colonial town in North America, you can still see the tall ships moored off the port and hear the smith’s hammer, while guided tours tell tales of lives lost on the ocean.
Lunenburg’s harbour-side streets are lined with unique shops and award-winning restaurants that blend with the well-preserved and colourfully painted historic homes, much of it like a living museum from the 18th century.

The Lunenburg Academy was registered as both a Provincial Heritage Property and a National Historic Site in 1983. Stop At: Peggy's Cove, Peggy's Cove, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia is home to over 160 historic lighthouses, but no beacon is as photographed as the one in the vibrant fishing village of Peggy’s Cove.
Built in 1915, Peggy’s Point Lighthouse still keeps watch over surging ocean waves and working lobster boats. Amble over giant rocks worn smooth by the sea and share in the view. The rocky coastline and ocean water around Peggy’s Cove is dangerous. Rogue waves (unpredictable, rough waves) commonly splash up over the rocks, even on calm, sunny days. Stay off the wet, dark rocks and do not swim.
The safest way to enjoy the view is to make sure you are walking on dry, white rocks.

Definitely recommend! Had a fantastic time with Paul on his half-day South Shore guided tour. We actually enjoyed a private tour in his very comfortable car. Paul made us feel like VIPs. He took us around the best spots and guided us through the history of the region: From the Halifax explosion, to the SwissAir crash and Titanic. I discovered more than I ever thought I would. Paul also knows all the good spots for picture-taking! We had a great time! And if you also need an airport shuttle service, look no further. He does it too! Definitely looking forward to go back to Halifax and do another guided tour with Paul. He also had lots of suggestions on things to do around Halifax and some of the city history too. Thank you again, Paul!We were a party of 2 and had a really good time with Paul. He was flexible, organized, accommodating and had fun stories to share. The drive was comfortable, there were videos to watch and learn NS history. We recommend this tour as it a great way seeing the south shore without much self planning!

We took 2 tours with Paul - South Shore and the Annapolis Valley. We enjoyed both days with Paul and he gave us some wonderful history and toured us to some beautiful spots. He also had some excellent suggestions for lunch. We would definitely book with Paul again. Theses tours allowed us to see much more of Nova Scotia than we expected during our relatively short time there. We also arranged for Paul to take us to the airport on the day we left - a very comfortable trip in his Lincoln. Paul was very punctual, informative and easy to spend the day with. While billed as a half day we were gone for 7 hours each day so we packed a lot of things in during the toursThis was an awesome tour and covered so much shorefront (and ground) over the course of the half day. This was an awesome tour and covered so much shorefront (and ground) over the course of the half day. It is absolutely worth it, and Paul is a terrific and very knowledgeable and professional guide. We did the tour on Labor Day and saw everything I wanted to see - Lunenberg, Mahone Bay, Chester, Peggy's Cove, the towns and shore along the way, and the Swiss Air memorial. Near Peggy's Cove, there was a stop at a lobster pound, Ryer & Ryer, for a lobster "show and tell" to see various sizes and colors of lobsters which was unexpected but a nice surprise. Paul was great in navigating and leaving plenty of time for photos and food along the way for the "full" Nova Scotia shore experience. I have so many photos I'm still sorting through at this point. The shuttle is very spacious and nicely outfitted with a giant tablet screen that Paul uses to show clips and videos for the various sites, including some mini history "lessons". Lots of extra things like hand sanitizer, wipes and extra masks as well given the current times. Lastly, while not advertised here, Paul also has cool stories of being tour guide to a number of celebrities during their Nova Scotia visits. They chose well as his tour is a real highlight.Wonderful tour, highly recommend! Wonderful tour, highly recommend! Great way to see a lot of sites over half a day, learn about Nova Scotia history and culture, and relax while someone else does all the driving! The tour agenda covers a nice mix: historical sites, picturesque towns, beautiful spots along the coast. Paul is a great tour guide. He is very knowledgeable on the area and the history, and he clearly cares about providing great service and experience for tour goers. We went on this tour 9/19 with Paul and had a wonderful day. Paul had a very informative film on during the ride out to our various destinations. It was right after the hurricane and the destruction was evident all around the area. We stopped at a waterfront restaurant and had a great lunch with the other couple on the tour. We then drove by Peggy's Cove which was really crowded. None of us wanted to stop because it looked like a Tourist Trap and we ave many lighthouses in New England. We stopped in the cute town of Ludenburg with beautiful sea sculptures on the lights and great views and restaurants. It was well worth the money and Paul was very professional.
