We met Stephanie on the first afternoon of our visit to Bolgna. She kindly met us from our taxi and escorted us to the Centre. Over a welcome drink she explained to us the history of Bologna and importantly how the bus ticket system works! We saw the main sites of the city centre ; The Piazza Maggiore, The Basilca of San Petronio with its famous sundial and much more The alleys of the ancient market area were fascinating and a highlight was a Balsalmic Vineger tasting. Stephanie is very knowledgeable and we learned a lot. She is also very friendly and it was great to connect with a local.person. She was very patient in our efforts to speak some italian.Stephen_H

Paolo was exactly what we were looking for as a guide. We can all read a Frommer's guidebook that provides the basics. He went into a deep dive of sites and history of the city to give us a historical context of what and why. I initially thought he was a college professor as his depth of knowledge was truly impressive. In discussion of foods he recommended a restaurant for lunch that was thus far in the top two of our 20 day tour through northern Italy and ate there a second day. We would have signed up for his food tour if we had time
