Thereafter a thrilling 4x4 drive to the dunes with time for a climb up dune 7. The contrast of the colours of the desert sands against the startling blue sky is breathtaking in perfect weather. We then were driven across sand dunes to view the salt works . Evert was attentive to our needs. We enjoyed a light lunch refreshment on the beach near the lighthouse close to a/wreck. We saw seals and a passing jackal. A 10 out of 10 tourWe did the Walvis Bay tour. It was a very nice tour, we’ve seen a lot of beautiful animals like: seals, flamingo's and jackhals and climbed dune 7. The guide was friendly, chill, explained well and relax. We were taken care for nicely and the homemade snacks were a delight! Roeland and Elise

We were very pleased today with our guided tour of the highlights of Walvis Bay. The guides waited for six of us, as our cruise ship was delayed one hour, without complaint. We enjoyed a climb of Dune 7 (bare feet recommended, but the sand is often hot!), and a tour of many stops for sightseeing and wildlife (birds including flamingos, seals, jackals), as well as a stop for souvenirs at the end. A small lunch was provided (and appreciated) , but given the desert heat, veggies were limited. The guides were very attentive to our comfort, offering water and other refreshments frequently. It was all we had hoped for--a nice introduction to Walvis Bay, Namibia, and the desert.
Excellent, imaginative and friendly. Wonderful excursion including the salt flats then across the sand dunes to Pelican Point to view the bird life and many, many seals close at hand and even a couple of jackals, topped off with an al fresco lunch with chilled champagne.

We booked a combination of a morning excursion by boat in the bay and a 4x4 drive towards Sandwich Harbour in the afternoon. Excellent day: we saw dolphins, seals, pelicans and even a whale from the boat. During the 4x4 trip, Jacques was a very pleasant and knowledgeable guide and showed us the salt refinery, the dunes, explained about the fauna and provided us with a delicious snack (prepared by his mom!) & drinks. One of the smaller tour operators in the area, but personal service and therefore highly recommended! This tour is one of the highlights of almost 7 weeks of travelling - a fantastic day which was even more than expected. This tour is one of the highlights of almost 7 weeks of travelling - a fantastic day which was even more than expected. JP was waiting for us as arranged. As there were only two participants his wife came as well which added to the feeling of being out for a day of fun with friends who knew the area. Dune 7 climb was great, as were the amazing flamingos and seals. While the 4-wheel driving and salt deposits were not reasons for choosing this tour I'm so glad they were included. The snacks (!) prepared by JP's wfe were fresh, delicious and plentiful. JP was flexible in extending the time at locations we were particularly enjoying and he provided all the information we could want. He had us back at the wharf as promised after sharing an outstanding day full of varied experiences with us. A professional and fun guide. Thank you.
