My wife and I chose to go hiking on Vidova Gora, the tallest point in Brac. We were stationed in Bol and we took a bus to Supetar, where our guide Ana-Maria waited for us. She drove us with a van to the nearby beautiful and quiet village of Dol, which is located in a picturesque green valley. After telling us a little bit about the village and the local legends, Ana took us on the hiking trail. The ascent was immersive as we had experienced different stages of the mediteranean landscape. The last third of the hike was through the pine forrest. We had multiple stops for rehydrating and a longer stop in the shepherd’s village Gazul. When finally reaching the Vidova Gora peak, our efforts were fully rewarded by the breathtaking view over the Adriatic and it’s “symBol” - Zlatni Rat. Ana-Maria made the whole trip enjoyable with our conversations. She knows so many things about the places we visited and was happy to share them with us. Also, worth mentioning that the guided tour was held with only (us) two tourists. Highly recommended!
