With an elevation of 1394 meters, this is the highest point of Santiago Island. Make a well-deserved stop for a picnic, enjoy stunning views and, weather permitting, be surprised by the nearby Fogo Island with its volcano lost on the horizon. We were really impressed with this tour to the top of Pico D'Antonia. We were picked up from our hotel and driven through the mountains to the start point. The hike itself starts off nice and gentle but the climb to the top really is a climb! Be prepared with hiking shoes and also poles if you feel you need them. The guides are so friendly and knowledgable about the area, flora and fauna, and were happy to answer all the questions we threw at them about life on the island. We enjoyed amazing panoramic view from the top, and could see the whole way round the island. Lunch was tuna mayo and tomato sandwiches, banana and juice cartoon. We also brought snacks with us for extra energy during ascent, which we definitely needed. The descent took us through the mountain villages which were so interesting. What an amazing experience. The hike of Pico da Antonia is very cool. After every corner you get a more breathtaking view. Bu tours picked us up in front of the hotel and drove to a place near the mountain. It took us around 2 hours to reach the highest available point. It took us around 2 hours to reach the highest available point. The beginning of the hike was quite easy, but later to the top it becomes more difficult. We advice you get good hiking shoes!! I forgot mine and 1 of the guides was friendly to lend me his shoes. The tour guides spoke excellent English and we had lots of fun chats with them during the hike. They both we’re extremely helpful and since this was my first hike they occasionally checked in how things were going. If I ever go to Santiago again, I would definitely take another hike or tour with Bu Tours!Great tour. We were accompanied by Alfonso and Maria who both had great energy. Listened to great local music while hiking to the top. Thanks again guys!

A faire absolument !!!
