WOW! I can’t even begin to describe our experience with Auntie K!! One word that comes to mind is LOVE. Auntie K cooks with love and she treated me and my group as If we were family. It felt like I was cooking with my grandma! This was honestly the highlight of our trip to Ghana, and we visited a lot of places! This was a pretty last-minute booking, as we had lots of activities planned and I wasn’t sure we would have the time to do the class. I contacted Eric (number on the contact info section) prior to booking because I wanted to get more info on the menu, duration, etc. Eric answered all my questions, and I booked a class for a party of 10 for the following day! I was concerned because I didn’t book until about 5 pm and I wasn’t sure if that would be too late for our large group, but he assured me it would be OK, and he let me know the biggest class they held was for 75 attendees!! Eric asked what my group was interested in learning to make, any dietary restrictions, and he also provided some meal suggestions. Everything was set and my group was looking forward to cooking some AMAZING Ghanaian food! Boy, we were not prepared for all the LOVE and GREAT food we were going to get! Not to mention the patience Auntie K had for all the questions my group had. Auntie K went over each step of the process in an easy-to-understand way and encouraged whatever questions we had! Auntie K creates this class around the group and only uses bottled water for all the cooking! Auntie’s main concern is to make sure everyone is comfortable, safe, and that they enjoy a healthy meal! Here is what we cooked: jollof rice, grilled chicken, spicy goat soup (AMAZING!!!), red red, plantains, Kelewele (spicy plantains), and stewed veggies. This meal was literally our BEST meal in Ghana! It was made with love, with family, laughter, conversation, and smiles, all while cooking outside! I could not have asked for anything better! We all cleaned our plates and Auntie even packed us to-go plates and put them in a cute bag! Our group had a lot of home chefs, and we were all interested in purchasing the seasonings we used for the class and Auntie helped coordinate that for us! We sent her our seasoning orders and she organized and bagged everything and dropped it off at our hotel! WHERE can you get this?! Ummm, only at Auntie K’s!!! Seriously, I can go on and on about my experience, but you just need to go ahead and book and have your own beautiful experience with Auntie K! She is too sweet and kind. Thank you, Auntie K and Eric, for providing me and my group with an authentic Ghanaian experience and meal <3 P.S. Auntie’s house is the home with the blue gate with that big tree with the pink flowers. I am attaching a picture s it is easy to find. It is located directly across from Club 69.KK was a great host! We spent a full 5 hours prepping, cooking and, best of all, eating. Ok, KK a lot more prepping and cooking than we did but we did our share and learned a lot about Ghanaian cooking tecnifiques. Food was delicious!

I have been back in LA a week and have already impressed my family by cooking red red and chicken.

Our favorite part of the experience with auntiek was the market shopping and the entire food preparation. We cooked together as a group as auntie k assigned roles for all of us to ensure we had something to do in an engaging way. Her kitchen isn’t a modern style kitchen but we were proud to go through the local way of cooking and that was special! Additionally we did learn some twi and ga lessons on the day from the family. We felt like a part of the family as soon as we arrived at auntie k home. Thank you Osu Cooking Class!
