First things first.. If you are traveling in from the city, use the app Waze to get to the Coffee farm. We did not and traveled through the mountains in the most unconventional way. The experience was STELLAR, we arrived late due to issues listed above and the staff waited on us politely. The staff introduced us to the horses and told us all the safety precautions when riding horses. We began the tour and the guides were extremely friendly, he even offered to take pictures for us and gave us a detailed history of the farm including all that they do in the local town. After the tour we were served the BEST coffee we had ever tasted accompanied by a serving of fruit grown locally on the farm. As we sat there conversing, one of the guides asked us if we wold like lunch before heading back to the city. We accepted and we were served such an amazing traditional Costa Rican lunch. Rice, beans, chicken and plantains. This was the best experience we have had in Costa Rica and will highly recommend if you are visiting the country, or even if you live locally. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. Being avid coffee drinkers we were keen to understand more about what goes into our favourite drink. We really enjoyed being shown around the coffee farm and waterfall. Willman, our guide was very informative and answered all our many questions with a smile. He also pointed out lots of wildlife along the way. We felt safe on the horses and had a memorable experience. What a unique way to view the beautiful grounds! What a unique way to view the beautiful grounds! You immediately are greeted by your increíble guide and enjoy an excellent coffee while exploring the charming house. The horses are extremely friendly and calm so any level of rider should feel comfortable. The tour includes a nice easy walk around the land and a quick trip down to view the waterfall/river. My partner and I found it the perfect level of informative and relaxing as you learned the history of the coffee plantation and surrounding community. Ending with an ice cold glass of flavored water, cool towel, fresh fruit, cake, and endless coffee (I had 3 cups!) was the cherry on top. Our guide and the whole team that helped along the tour were incredibly friendly and made this a tour I would absolutely recommend. Bonus tip: if you want a great lunch in the area ask the guide he gave a fantastic recommendation for a spot 15min away with some of the best food and views I had my entire trip in CR. Thanks for everything! We truly enjoyed all aspects of the tour. We truly enjoyed all aspects of the tour. The horses, Lucero and Bellota, were well-trained and guided by a very professional man named Christian, and our tour guide Randall was excellent and very friendly. The owners were extremely hospitable and knowledgable about the operations. Wilman's tour of the beneficio was thorough and informative, and we really enjoyed the coffee samples and the snacks provided alongside them. The hike down to the waterfall was steep but brief, and we even got to hear a little bit from Randall about how the riverbed itself is being affected by climate change, which gave us a new insight into the area. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about the coffee production process in Costa Rica (although the views alone are worth it!).
