Humpback Whale Safari
Overview
On our humpback whale tours, we often see other striking animals like dolphins and manta rays, and of course, mother whales resting while their calves frolic in the calm waters. These splendid animals have also been spotted amusing themselves by rolling in the water, waving at us with their huge pectoral fins, slapping their giant tails playfully, and even jumping out of the water!

What to expect
Humpback whale season in Coral Bay begins at the end of June and runs through to mid October. During this time it is estimated around 30, 000 whales pass through Ningaloo Reef on their annual migration, sometimes stopping to rest, shelter, and play in the calm waters of Coral Bay.
We are dealing with Mother Nature and animal behavior. Therefore opportunities will vary from day to day. Nothing in nature is guaranteed, however every effort will be made to ensure you have an amazing day out. For each tour there is 14 swimming spots available.
If and when our trained guide deems it is safe to do so, swimming guests will enter the water at a safe distance from the animals either from the side or in front of the whales path. It is then all up to the whales and each interaction will be on their terms. Humpback whales can be curious and may approach swimmers, or they simply may pass by. An in water interaction is defined as being in the water within the exclusive contact zone.

The only reason I give this activity 4 stars instead of 5 is totally beyond their control. It was supposed to be an interactive activity but the location of the whale and the sea conditions prevented that. To their credit they refunded the interactive component. The crew were incredibly well drilled and professional and I highly recommend this company, but be mindful that weather conditions could have an impact on what you can do. We swam with turtles, manta rays, wobbegong sharks, saw dolphins and a humpback along with some great snorkeling. Great day!There were strong winds all week until our tour date. The winds abated and we had a great time. Everything went very smoothly from checking in, getting kitted out 24 hours before the tour right through to completion. There were strong winds all week until our tour date. The winds abated and we had a great time. Everything went very smoothly from checking in, getting kitted out 24 hours before the tour right through to completion. Tour staff were excellent, helpful, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their work. The snorkelling locations were excellent with an abundant of marine life. We did not get to swim with the hump back whales due to the conditions being unsuitable. The crew went the extra mile to make up for this. Plenary of food. We would definitely recommend this company and the tour.Amazing experience! Saw whales, turtles and durongs. Snacks inkl. coffee and a glass of champagne provided. Very nice boat. Lovely crew. But it really is the incredible team of staff that made the trip. They are so enthusiastic, encouraging and incredibly knowledgeable guides and phenomenal photographers to boot! A special shout out to Soph, Elle, Jackson, Lu and Dan for 2 indescribable days.This was an amazing experience. We couldn’t have been more blown away by the opportunity to get so close and interact with humpback whales. The crew, photographer, food and equipment were exceptional. This is a ‘must do’ if you have the chance.
