I travel for Food Tour in San Sebastian
Overview
With every person that joins the tour, I help a person in need by donating a meal to the city's soup kitchen, you eat one you feed one!
It's a 3h walking, where there's mostly eating and less than 10 mins-walk between each stop. We’ll go to 5 specially selected stops within two different neighbourhoods.
You'll indulge and learn all about the unique culinary tradition of going out for pintxos! Pintxos pronounced 'pin-choss', these are different from tapas and imbedded in Basque culture. I'm going to show you how to navigate the local food scene and eat the best that this city has to offer.
This experience is the kind of tour for people who hate the word 'tour' and genuinely travel for food and really want to get immersed in the culture and have fun.
Inclusions
- Dinner - Five food stops with one pintxo (local Basque food) and one drink in each place (local drinks and wine).

She carefully curates the tour to suit her customer's requirements and at the same time ensures the places visited have both good food and a good story behind it. She is knowlegeable about the food and the city and beyond food, you get to learn more about the unique Basque culture and the city through this tour. My partner and I met Cristina for her Eat One Feed One Social Impact food tour on Saturday night. We had been recommended her tour with glowing reviews and they were absolutely right. Cristina was so warm, welcoming and full of knowledge! We loved that the tour not only included amazing food but also a comprehensive history of San Sebastian (and Basque culture). We loved that each dish we tried was varied from traditional to modern style pintxos and the drinks were different (and tasty) at each place. Ordering pintxos can be a little overwhelming for someone new to San Sebastian but Cristina gave us the confidence to go out and order pintxos for the rest of our stay. It is for this reason that we recommend doing the tour with Cristina at the beginning of your holiday in San Sebastian like we did. Cristina also provided a thoughtful email after our tour with a lovely photo and an extensive list of recommendations (pintxos, wine, icecream etc!) for us to try during the rest of our stay. We did not stray from this list and we can definitely say all of the recommendations we tried were absolutely delicious!!! We could say more but you will find out on the tour :) Thank you Cristina!!! We hope to see you again when we return to San Sebastian.f you Travel to San Sebastián you MUST do this food tour!! Cristina was the most incredible host we could have ever asked for. We were able to schedule with her only the day the before, and she had GREAT communication, allowing us to message back and forth before we actually booked (we wanted to clarify that it was okay to have children on the tour with us - which she said was fine, even with a 4 year old and 1 year old!) We met Cristina right in old town to begin the tour, she found us immediately, introduced herself, and we could instantly see her passion for food, community, and friendship (kuadrillas)! She made us feel as though we had been friends for years! Her history and experience as a chef was immediately obvious as she had extensive knowledge about the history, preparation, and ingredients of the food we ate. She took us to the BEST pintxo places in San Sebastian, shared the best drinks with us, and even ordered special drinks and items for our 4-year-old, and held her hand walking down the street! We saw about 8 people during our tour that knew her, hugged her, and exclaimed that she was the best tour guide in the area (which we already knew by this point)! She was incredibly patient with our children, letting us take our time from place to place, and encouraging the children to try the new foods and drinks. She taught us so much about the Spanish and Basque food, culture, and language. We all agreed that it was the highlight of our whole trip to Spain! She was kind enough to give us a summary of everywhere we went, everything we ate, and everything we drank! So we went out the next night with a few of her recommendations, and realized that the VERY BEST way to eat your way through San Sebastian is WITH HER! We are so grateful to have experienced her knowledge and passion for food and people. We would consider returning to San Sebastian just to do another food tour with her! Thank you Cristina! We loved our tour with Cristina. We loved our tour with Cristina. She hosted six of us through San Sebastian, sharing the most incredible culinary treats and explaining in detail the history of the Basque culture, language and traditions that shape the food and town. She was a true delight and we've already revisited many of her stops, and recommended them to friends as must-visits!
