What to expect
This tour in the Icelandic countryside takes 1 hour and is ideal for families, groups and guests travelling in their own car. Participants will get a small taste of the Icelandic horse’s qualities and experience the Icelandic countryside on horseback. We meet at our farm and ride on excellent riding paths and along the meadows around Eldhestars farm Vellir.

I had a great experience, spending time on a horse, in the beautiful landscape. The guide was helpful and informative . The horses were friendly and seemed well taken care of. If I ever visit Iceland again, I will definitely go for another tour with Eldhestar!

The guide was young but enthusiastic and an expert rider, capable of guiding our group. We had many opportunities to tölt (the Icelandic 5th gait). The surroundings were gorgeous, of course. It was end of April and we got lucky with weather (no rain) but there were some gnatlike flies in the second half of the ride, if you are sensitive to such things you might want to bring a net hat. My horse was sweet tempered and a little bit low energy. If you are an experienced rider make sure to let them know. I wanted to tip my guide, and ended up just sending her something on Paypal.Staff was friendly and helpful, horses were lovely. The tolt gait was very comfortable!
