What to expect
When you arrive at the farm you´ll be fitted with helmets which are mandatory and optional available raingear or winter overalls. Once ready you´ll meet the horses and a horse matching your experience will be selected. The ride itself is ca 2 hours in the summer season and around 1.5 - 2 hrs in the winter season depending on weather.

I always say I'm a beginner as 8m timid. My horse was badly behaved and uncontrollable (I have done many rides). Often turning or galloping absent prompt. I'm older so I was getting scared. I look up and notice my niece was thrown off of her horse (she is a competent rider, the stirrup broke). Another gal had her reigns break. The people seemed lovely but my niece was injured and is quite beat up.. I fear this is really only for very advanced trainers.We booked the trip before we arrived in Iceland. Best to book ahead. It was our last day. It had snowed heavily overnight so it made the experience including the scenery post card perfect. The staff/guides were very friendly and so were the horses. The staff/guides were very friendly and so were the horses. A must do experience if in South Iceland. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The scenery was absolutely stunning and they provided us with overalls which helped to keep us warm! I felt so safe on their horses and they were very well behaved. When I come back to Iceland I’ll definitely be visiting again!Laxnes Horse Farm is lovely, we ended up going out in a group of 10 with 2 members of staff. Despite this the scenery is stunning the staff lovely and the horses adorable. Will deffo go back and look to do a small group with my partner and do a little bit more.The warm, friendliness and hospitality I experienced at Laxnes was unbelievable. A truly amazing day.
