I found the experience very good and organised. It all went smooth and there were no issues at all. I’ve done 6 or 7 discover scuba dives and this was the first time I actually learnt something constructive and the instructor took the time to give me tips and correct me on some skills between the dives. I felt I got more out of it than any other dives I’ve done. The trip was good, crew friendly, equipment good, lunch was good. I really could have not asked for more. I do t usually return to same activity, but I would in this case if in the area.Wow what a great day out this was. Collection was bang on time. We were doing the introductory day to diving. Wow what a great day out this was. Collection was bang on time. We were doing the introductory day to diving. When we arrived we were met by our dive instructor Mann. Wow what to say about Mann. His English was impeccable and he was the best person for us on the day. He was patient, explained everything in clear detail and had a very calming and relaxed approach, not relaxed in that you could do anything you wanted but in terms of how he spoken and explained things. We went through the paper work, wavers lol we had to sign and then once this was done Mann took us to get our equipment sorted. Because we went in October it was quite so we had Mann all to our selves. All the equipment was well maintained and all fitted correctly. Mann made sure everything was as it should be. All the kit was taken to the boat for you and we had an hour boat ride to the first dive site where we would learn the basics. The boat ride gave us a chance to get to know our fellow divers all of which seemed to be experienced. When we got to the first site Mann talked us through the basics and we learned what to do and what not to do. It also gave us the confidence we needed. Again Mann made it clear that if at any time we were not comfortable we didn't have to dive deep but could stay on the surface or what ever we were happy doing. He made it clear it was our experience. My partner was struggling with the concept of putting your head under water and breathing, which if you have not dived before is very disconcerting and counter intuitive. Once we had finished our initial training that lasted about an hour or so, we got back on the boat and went to the next dive site 10 minutes away. But first we had lunch which I really enjoyed and nice green Thai curry with rice and something else that I can't remember but the food was really good. The crew of the boat were great and again everything was done with no worries about your kit or anything. Very slick and well organised. When we got to the next site we were helped by man to put on our kit making sure everything was OK, it is quite cumbersome to walk on the boat with but once in the water its all good. We stood on the side on the boat and stepped off into the water, again a bit counter intuitive as you are wear all the dive gear. As I have done this a few times before I was comfortable in being under the water and staying calm while you breath. Long in take slow out breath and just enjoy the surroundings. Because my partner was struggling Mann again emphasised if she was not comfortable she could just stay on the surface, but after a while she because more comfortable but was helped along by Man who held onto her from above and kind of steered her along. This meant my partner could enjoy the dive but without actually doing anything. It looked really funny as she seemed to be being carried along dangling from Mann's arm holding on the her air tank. We say some great fish and coral but we also saw a small ray just under an overhanging bit of coral. Once the dive was over we got back onto the boat and headed back. I can't say enough about how good Mann was with us and how he looked after my partner to make her feel comfortable under the water. Because of his approach my partner got to enjoy the dive instead of giving up because she didn't feel good and because my partner has a lot of courage and determination also. I would recommend this course to anyone who has never dived of has but like me has not taken the qualification. Awesome day out. Make sure you ask for Mann, because he is the man. Oh, make sure you take with you a towel and some dry clothing although by the time you get back you are dry. We took a bag with but forgot towels buy this wasn't any issue as you dried really quickly. The is access to fresh water to rinse off on the boat after being in the sea.Perfect experience. Perfect experience. Having had a traumatic first experience in Rhodes, I was nervous about doing this again (instructor didn’t check on us and my wife had ear problems and my daughter was freaking out a bit about something and it was all on me to fix) but Dion (our US/Japanese instructor) was spot on. Great teacher, great host. There may be cheaper companies out there but for me, these are a sure bet.Third time diving for me and first time for my partner (we did the discover scuba diving day trip). Third time diving for me and first time for my partner (we did the discover scuba diving day trip). Day started with quick briefing at the offices then 1-1.5 hour speed boat to Ko Tao. First dive walking into the sea at Mango Bay, then lunch and second dive out further out to sea to a maximum depth of 12 metres. Amazing day! Big positives were: + Eric was a pleasure to deal with and was easy to get hold of on WhatsApp and email. Friendly, reassuring and informative. + light and easy pre-reading that can be done online beforehand + prescription goggles for people wearing glasses were available + Eric arranged transfers and was kind enough to drop us off at a different location even though it was more inconvenient + diving instruction with Ewan was fantastic - thorough, well explained and lots of hands on assistance once we were in the water + big and well organised crew - everything was fuss free and smooth and they were very friendly. 3-4 people per instructor + dive sites were great - being a discover diving experience and with our first site walking in from the bay I assumed there might not be much to see but I was wrong! Lots of coral and fish, beautiful sites. + plenty of time actually diving. I have done two discover dives before in Oman and Egypt, where dive time was more like 30 mins, whereas here we had two dives of around 45 mins each time underwater. Only thing I would say for other beginners is make sure to wash the goggles out with enough soap between dives otherwise they get a bit blurry!Great experience for scuba diving. My wife and I did the introductory dive experience on our last day in Samui and our only regret is that we did not do it sooner! Zoe was an amazing instructor, walking us through the basics and guiding us through our first dives (and offering some great tips for the rest of our honeymoon in Thailand). The coral and fish were beautiful, boat rides smooth, lunch amazing—altogether a perfect day. If you’ve never dived before but are curious, this is a great way to spend a day (or more, if you book before your last day on the island)!
