Island Hopping from Hong to James Bond Islands from Krabi with Speedboat
Overview
There is something you should know about the conventional James Bond Tour: usually you go by car to Phang Nga, losing 3-4 hours on the road, we take you there by the sea with our Speedboat.
The James Bond tour is one of the most overcrowded and touristy sea tours in Thailand. Appreciate the amazing islands around the Phang Nga province where you can enjoy privacy and a Thai Buffet Lunch on a quiet beach and snorkel around Krabi islands. The focus is to visit 3 different areas (James Bond, Hong Islands and Koh Yao Noi) avoiding peak hours and it is limited to a maximum of 17 travelers.

I did 2 tours with Thalassa and I'm extremely satisfied with their service. I specifically booked them because of what they advertised as "semi-private" and they have stayed true to their word. Because it's only a small group, it felt very personalised and you also end up getting to know the other passengers. For the Phi Phi tour, I felt that we spent most of our time on the boat looking at points of interest. I think it's really hard to avoid the hoards of people for Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon unless you book a private tour and go really early. I appreciated snorkeling as group because it made me feel safe and we were shown where to find the moray eel and other fish. I especially enjoyed (and preferred) the Hong Island tour. We were shown lots of islands and there was plenty of opportunity to swim without feeling rushed because it's less touristy. I want to give a special mention to Deem and Stephane who went above and beyond what is required. I have lots of great photos because of Stephane which is greatly appreciated because I was a solo traveller. The guides on both tours really looked after me and everyone else. They may be priced higher than the other companies but you do get what you pay for!The tour started by being picked up from the king sign. Easy and short transport to the boat. The tour started by being picked up from the king sign. Easy and short transport to the boat. This is where we meet Bella, the superhost! Funny, chatty and always smiling! She loved taking pictures! 🤩 The boat tour started in a pretty new boat, nice and spacy (ish). We we're 11 people. You could sit in the front, but only two, sometimes you could be more, depending on the waves and weather! We went snorkeling, it was fun, to bad our masks didn't fit at first, but they were quickly assisting us with new masks. The tour went on to a new snorkling spot, sadly there were no sight underwater and it was to much current, but they took us there despite this was not included! 😮 They took us to places were we avoided bad weather and tourism. We didn't go to shore on the James bond island and we were happy they didnt, because it was packed with tourists standing in lines. They took some beautiful pictures of everyone! The speedboat vs. longboat made a huge time difference and it made the guides able to customize the tour for the best experience! There were unlimited drinks (ice tea, cola, spirite etc..) and the lunch was fantastic on a beautiful private beach ⛱️ Very safety oriented, not on the expense of the fun. We had a full sunny day , lots of swimming and it was fantastic! We're super happy with Thalassa Tour! The guides could speak both English and Spanish very well! 🇪🇸🇬🇧🇹🇭 Thank you so much Bella, Mark, Captain and Fixing guy for making an unforgettable trip with lots of new memories 😊We had a great time. Wonderful islands! Amazing landscapes. We loved the lunch on a “private” beach. Snorkelling was also perfect!

The lunch was tasty, though there was not a lot. Plenty of water, ice tea, and Coca Cola. There was one English speaking crew member. The boat was small and just fit our group of 8. We saw the beautiful Hong Island and a few beautiful turquoise lagoons. The snorkeling was unrewarding as the water was murky. The weather was overcast and the sea was choppy, so as we sped around from island to island it was a rather bumpy ride. Not a great tour. Not much value for the money.Fantastic experience with our guide Sakeen and a small group visiting the stunning islands of Phang Nga. Fantastic experience with our guide Sakeen and a small group visiting the stunning islands of Phang Nga. We didn’t have a lot of time and wanted to see both Hong island and the photogenic James Bond island, and didn’t want to drive all the way to Phuket from our hotel in Ao Nang. This was perfect! Comfortable speed boat, incredible tour of many different islands, lunch on a secluded beach with just our small group, snorkeling at two great spots… what’s not to love?! Sakeen was a friendly, knowledgable, funny, and generally lovely guide. Highly recommend this tour!!Amazing experience, 100% recommend that you do this activity. Amazing experience, 100% recommend that you do this activity. The many many 5 star reviews really should be enough to persuade anyone. The guide was so great, so informative and so easy to understand (even though she said she’s not used English in almost 2 years because of the pandemic and no tourists). My partner and I just loved everything about the trip, including the stop off at the lagoon. Hopefully when I come back again and do this trip with my family, we’ll be able to stop off at the same lagoon.
