This is a great way to experience and learn about this area is Croatia. Matula was an excellent guide. He was professional and knowledgeable of Istria and of all Croatia. We visited three cities that were all unique in their own way. We were given the history of the town and then had time to explore on our own. It was the perfect amount of time, enough to experience the city but not to long. The lunch was wonderful. We were brought to a farm on a hillside with not only a gorgeous view but a delicious authentic meal prepared by the family who owns the farm. It couldn't have been more perfect. Would highly recommend Krug Travel Company. As two women traveling to Istria in the off-season, we weren’t sure what type of tours we would be able to find. As two women traveling to Istria in the off-season, we weren’t sure what type of tours we would be able to find. We were matched with Krug Travel through another booking agency for a one day cheese, wine, and olive oil tour- and boy are we thrilled to have met owner Marko, who served as our guide. Marko was incredibly knowledgeable and laid back. His style of tourism is unique - you feel as if you’re exploring Istria with a new friend and his relationships with the local producers/sellers allowed us to experience places like a local. We travelled to three locations and passed through several towns. Marko went out of his way to give us a feel for each place and discuss its history and relevance in modern Istria. Marko’s enthusiasm and philosophy on tourism in Istria is inspiring. He definitely won’t have to “twist our arms” for us to explore Istria with him again! Thank you Marko!DALIBOR was an absolutely amazing guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the region and shares it with passion and depth. He also has a delightful sense of humor. We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide Stefano was fantastic. The tour feels really relaxed with plenty of time to walk around and take in the views at the stops. Lunch was delicious, and was probably the most authentic typical food we’ve had on our vacation. They even accommodated my gluten allergy with a simple but delicious plate of food made on the spot. If you have limited time in Istria, this is a great way to see the countryside.Just finished the one day istria trip. Had a really great time and worthwhile experience. Just finished the one day istria trip. Had a really great time and worthwhile experience. The trip was booked through ex histria and ably supported by an excellent back up team of Martin, Dalibor and Dean. Martin had the hardest job as the driver, but is a calm and experienced individual in all road conditions. He made sure the van was always ready at pick ups and was fully airconned, always welcome after a hot walking stint. The 2 tour guides, Dalibor and Dean were very knowledgeable and sociable from the start. Made you feel at home. The trip started at 9 with a prompt pick up in modern air-conditioned mini van. We then visited porec, Groznjan and motovun. Each visit would begin with a tour with the guides and then free time to explore, now you had the background. Plenty of time to visit. Lunch was at a quiet countryside restaurant with a great view of Motovun. We had pastas: wild boar, chicken and cheese truffles with copious amount of white wine to wash it down. All included in the price and very tasty. Arrived back at hotel 430. So in summary, a easy and social way to explore the delights of Istria, with knowledgeable guides and a comfortable traveling environment. Highly recommended. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Ivana as our host. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Excellent all round. We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Ivana as our host. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Excellent all round. The venues of Porec, Grosjnan and Motovun were really interesting and the tasting experiences very tasty. The lunch at a typical local Istrian restaurant made a lovely end to the day and the food that Little John served was truly delicious, along with the local wine. Cam definitely recommend this tour. It was well orchestrated from pick up to drop off. We would use this service again.
