Jose is a great guide and driver. He showed us the highlights around Kakarta, to a local restaurant where we sampled different Indonesian foods, and shopping at a wonderful store that sells clothing made from Batik fabrics. The had beautiful men’s shirts and women’s dresses. You can also buy fabric yardage to take home. Next he took us to an incredible antiques flea market where we bought some lovely pieces to take home. The prices were quite reasonable after we haggled with the seller. A most memorable day!Had a great tour today with Jose. Comfortable air conditioned van, good explanations of history and landmarks, and really enjoyed the shopping areas, which had a lovely cultural focus also. Lunch was great and accommodated our vegetarian daughter also. Highly recommend!

Excellent experience esp with a very nice and accommodating tour guide Thomas and Driver Joseph! It was a different kind of tour seeing different market spots in Jakarta like the antique market which is a display of the craftmanship of Indonesia. The Batik house was a house of high quality batik apparels. The old Sarinah Department Store is a very classic structure and offered reasonable buys. Pasar Baru is a delight for shoppers looking for affordable goods. Finally the Padang Restaurant is a one stop shop for local Indonesian dishes. Very sumptuous and magnificent food!I had the pleasure of meeting Jose for a shopping and culinary tour of Jakarta. I had the pleasure of meeting Jose for a shopping and culinary tour of Jakarta. Despite my not giving much detail about what I wanted to do or see, Jose had organized a perfect day. I was able to see so much of the city, including a great antique market, market for locals, a terrific Batik store, Chinatown, and souvenir area. The culinary tour included a fantastic local lunch and a really interesting snack. I felt like I really got a great sense of the city through its markets and local food. Jose was on time, his English skills were great, and he was a pleasure to talk to. The tour price also included a van and driver, which was very convenient. The itinerary for the day was packed, and never felt like it was dragging, but also it was not rushed - we had time to pop into a tea room and a few other stops that were not planned. Highly recommend!!Nanda and driver very friendly. Would recommend to others Really only sensible way to visit sites and shops, because jakarta is so big
