Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Rahas Ella Hotel - රහස් ඇල්ල හෝටලය, 8MWR+XH6, B462, Wattegama, Sri Lanka
A creek of the Ravan Oya (river), which originates in the Hunnasgiriya mountain range and runs from Devalegammedda hamlet to Upper Wattegama, creates the two sections of the 15-meter-tall Rahas Ella fall (1437m). A huge fissure at the bottom of the fall makes bathing hazardous. The stream merges with the Mahaweli River in the Iriyagasthenna GS, Rahas Ella Forest Reserve after Wattegama.
Mongoose and a rare species of chameleon inhabit the four hectares of neighboring woodland, which is home to trees including teak, jack, and palmyra (Caryata urens).
It's thought that ancient King Sri-Wickrema Rajasinhe once took sanctuary in the neighboring Wavulugala cave. Folklore holds that the King submerged his umbrella beneath the fall's gushing waters, which split open to expose a cave's stone door. Villagers claim that persons who visit this location alone to take a bath frequently notice a mysterious red object in the water, and that anyone who tries to remove it would perish.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Huluganga Ella Falls, Wattegama Sri Lanka
One of the many cascades produced by the stream flowing from the Knuckles mountain range is Huluganga Ella Falls, which is 75 meters high. Before going to the Victoria Reservoir, the falling water sprinkles the towns of Elliyadda and Aratthana. It is well-liked by both domestic and foreign tourists, and the villagers consider it a piece of their Dumbara legacy.
Under the Kundasale Water Deliver Scheme, a project supported by Kundasale PC and the Sri Lanka Board of Investment (BOI) to supply water to the Kundasale Electorate, a dam had been constructed at the top of the fall. Environmentalists have argued that there isn't enough room between the dam and fall, which will reduce water flow.
The fall is located close to Panwila, beneath the town of the Hulu River (Kandy District, Panwilla Provincial Secretariat Division).
This region has several waterfalls that may be seen in a single trip.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Thaliya Wetuna Ella Falls තලිය වැටුන ඇල්ල, CP9R+M2C, Huluganga, Sri Lanka
The Thaliya Wetuna Ella waterfall, which is 50 meters high, is located in Alakola Estate in the Knuckles mountain range in the Kandy District. As a result, Alakola Ella is another name for this autumn. It is created in a Hulu Ganga tributary that rises in the Knuckles mountain range.
The history of the name Alakola is also intriguing. This region allegedly belonged to a planter named Allen Collen during the British era. Later, this Allen Collen Watte changed his name to Alakola Watte ( Alakola Estate)
The Hulu Ganga Bridge is directly in front of the road leading to Alakola Estate. You can locate a pathway leading to the base pool of the Thaliya Watuna Ella after traveling about 3 km along the road.
A further 2.7 kilometers down the same stream, near the Huluganga town, are the Huluganga Falls.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Jodu Ella Water Falls, Bambarella, CQ2G+678, Knuckles Peak Rd, Gomara, Sri Lanka
The identically sized Jodu Ella Falls, also known as "Bambarella Knuckles Falls, " cascade simultaneously from both extremities of the mountain into the Mahaweli River via the Hulu Ganga River. Both falls have a 45-meter length. The spring of Me Malai, a mountain range in the Knuckles mountain range, is the source of the Moragaha River. The water travels through several pools and seven chutes before arriving at the falls.
A great range of fauna, including wild boar, porcupines (Ceratophora tennenti), and an island-specific lizard known as dumbara and katussa can be found nearby, along with a large number of therapeutic herbs. There is concern that the aquifers may dry up and cause the ground to deteriorate because the region near the top of the falls has been depleted.
Before it reaches the Huluganga River, the Moragaha River travels through the Bambarella, Baddegama, and Kosgama regions.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Lebanon Estate Waterfall - 1, CQ69+G38, Gomara, Sri Lanka
Two sizable and stunning waterfalls are concealed in the Lebanon Estate in the Kandy District. These waterfalls are unnamed and are not well-known. On the Bambarella Road, close to the exit for the Lebanon estate, is where you'll find the first waterfall.
Near this intersection, a creek that originates in the Knuckels Mountain range runs through the estate and crosses the Bambarella Road. This 30-meter waterfall is created around 250 meters downstream of the bridge, and the water falls straight into a pool.
Traveling 5.5 kilometers down the Panwila-Bambarella road from the Huluganga Ella Falls will bring you to this waterfall.
This waterfall is not included in the Lanka Council of Waterfalls database (LCWF).
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Saree Ella Waterfall Road, Gomara Sri Lanka
A prominent entrance to the Nuckels mountain range is Bambarella, where there are several waterfalls that surround Hulu Ganga ( Hulu River)
Five minutes' drive separates the Bambarella Saree Ella from the town of Bambarella. This waterfall's name comes from the way it resembles the fall of a woman's saree. The fall has several cascades and is accessible by any type of vehicle.
