We had the best day on KI with Riggsy as our tour guide. We were on the first cruise ship to visit KI since the devastation of the bushfires and were very keen to support this close-knit community in any small way that we could. Riggsy was very flexible with regard to the itinerary as we were the only passengers on that particular tour. We got to see quite a lot of the Island including some spectacular scenery, the Eucalyptus Farm, Clifford's Honey (try the honey ice-cream), the Seal Colony and the Wildlife Park. Riggsy shared his wealth of knowledge of the history and lifestyle on the island and the result was an interesting and educational experience for us. The catastrophic fires on KI have left the community reeling, but their support for each other and their resilience was palpable and we wish them the very best for the future. We had a great day.We arrived in Kangaroo Island via the Pacific Eden. The honey ice cream at Cliffords Honey Farm is a must try as are the wines at Bay of Shoals Winery. Philip was a great guide and nothing was too much trouble. He made sure that the kids as well as the adults were enjoying themselves.

We booked a day tour of the island with Kangaroo Island Trails as we were passengers on the Pacific Jewel. The island was absolutely beautiful and not commercialised at all, just natural wonders. Our driver Kevin was a wealth of information and obviously loves his job. He kept us on a tight schedule to ensure that we were on time to meet the departure of cruise vessel. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the visitors centre at Flinders National Park A day tour in a nutshell showing the beautiful island. We spent the day with Mike. He was professional and knows the island. I would suggest just sitting back and letting him show you around. He will take you to the good stuff.

We took this cruise while visiting with the Golden Princess. We had no concerns with timing, the last stop is very close to the harbour so you knew you would have no trouble getting back on time. Kevin the driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. He appeared to know every person on the island. Highlight was Dudley Wine. The tastings were just fantastic and the person who led them was both charming and knowledgeable. Great experience, great wine and great view. I want to return, if just to stare at the view. I would say second on the list was the Eucalyptus Farm, although they were overwhelmed with bus tours, so we just joined in one of their tours. Really interesting place, really enjoyed this visit. The lavender farm was a bit of schnozzle, because again they were overwhelmed by tourist buses. I will say the scones and tea were fantastic, and I don't blame the staff (who were lovely), for the slow service.... they just got hammered by so many buses at once. We also had Tandoori wraps which were very tasty. The honey farm is really more of a commercial stop, although there is free honey to taste, we didn't really get any sense of what the business was all about, I suspect because they were too busy being hammered... you guessed it... by other bus tours. We did buy quite a few of their products though... which were all great. Overall I would recommend this over a ships tour, more personal service and better value.
